Happy Birthday, Doctor! The amazing thing is that, unlike Star Trek, there has usually been a production running on air during most of those 47 years. Although, I wonder which one has more "film time"? The Doctor or all the Trek TV versions, animation, and movies?

Star Trek might have more hours due to the fact they came out with more shows and overlapped the years they were on.

Doctor Who originally 750 (?) 23 minute episodes then 74 episodes 42 minutes long(about 5 at 60 minutes) 340 hrs. early episodes may have been longer.

Star Trek 80 episodes at 50 minutes ( including Pilot)
cartoon 22 at 24 minutes
Next gen 182 episodes at 48 minutes
DS9 174 at 48 min.
voyager 182 at 48 min.
Enterprise at 98 at 46 min.
10 movies at 2hrs each = 602 hrs.

#'s are as close as i could remember them. BE KIND.

some time wise trek is ahead but years wise who stayed on 26 years striaght even once next gen showed up it only lasted 18 years until enterprise went off and i had to keep adding shows instead of going continuosly as one show.

and since you are adding in ST spinoffs I would add in the Who spins, Sarah Jane, torchwood, & K-9
and if you add in 11 years of Big Finish Audios, and 3 radio plays I think who has way more air time,
