Back to the Future: Just how Inbred were the McFly's?

Watching Back to the Future Part III for the first time in decades and I know they wanted to shoe-horn in Lea Thompson for more than a just her end cameo, but there is absolutely no reason that Marty's paternal great-grandmother would be the spitting image of his mother!

Yeah, it should've been Jennifer's ancestor.

I think they mentioned that in the DVD commentary. I seem to recall their explanation was the McFly men were very attracted to women who looked like Lea Thompson. But yeah, they admitted they wanted her in there.

Oh wow - that movie was such a stinker. I remember Part 2 being fun though - and the first one is great.

I guess they really were all "slackers"!

^I like the 3rd one and think II is the stinker of the bunch. Too dark.

Neither touch the first. A bona-fide classic.

            I liked 3 way better than 2

To me 2 seemed boring and almost 1 over again.

3 was it's own story, which I liked better.

I loved the 1st one, 2nd one was okay, but the third one we watch every week; my four year old calls is Cowboy Choo Choo.

3 had ZZ-Top in a Wild West setting ... It don't get any better than that

Biggest drawback for me for II is seeing Michael J. Fox in drag.

Yeah, I was disappointed with II when I went to the theatre. Liked III a bunch!
                        It's all good!

Number II was garbage. They ruined it. What was the point of casting Elizabeth Shue if she spends the majority of 2 pictures unconscious? III was better but the whole thing strayed too far.

funny, I was just watchng part 1 on TV the other day and my wife and I agreed we need to pick this series up on Bluray. I have not watched 2 0r 3 in years but my recollection is 2 was good, 3 sucked rotten apples. will have to rewatch it all and see how I feel about them

All 3 were great! except for recasting jennifer. Shue was good but i would have kept the original.
