Yep, he was D-day, or Captain ransom from Voyager for the younger members.

As I'm sure you figured out Yanouli, the bartender was God. If I remember right he never admitted it, but thats how he was presented.

I loved the show and the ending. The only thing I didn't understand was that Sam was told that he controlled the leaps and could go anywhere and time. But in the final credits, he was stated as never returning home. That never made sense to me. If he could go home, and obviously wanted to, why didn't he?

He was in one of the best TZ episodes "Quality of mercy" i believe.

What was fun for me, with that series, was to point out all of the actors that were in it when they would pop up again.

One of the first things I remember Scott Bakula from was a series called Eisenhower and Lutz. That co-starred DeLane Matthews and Patricia Richardson. Both of those actresses wound up in QL episodes as a bridge before they became kind of famous in the 90s for their respective starring roles in the hit series "Dave" and "Home Improvement".

Among the series co-stars (before they were famous):
              Jennifer Anniston
              Jason Priestly
              Patrick Warburton
Eric LaSalle (well...there was Coming to America, so you kind of recognized him)
              Carla Gugino
              Tia Carrera
              Joseph Gordon-Levitt
              Marcia Cross
              Diedrich Bader (Batman!!!)
              Terry Farrell
              Teri Hatcher

All went on to become stars of the 1990s and some are still pretty well know today.

Heck, I clearly remember Neil Patrick Harris in a post-Doogie role and Roddy McDowall playing an alternate timeline version of Al. I also remember pointing out, when Northern Exposure became popular, that Janine Turner (Maggie O'Connell) and John Cullum (Holling Vincoeur) appeared in the same episode of QL, well before Northern Exposure came along.
