Good point Will, he does pull off the "old soul" thing well. I especially like his anger, different from the last two but still there, he's very dismissive.

I think this guy is doing a very good job. I understand Matt is basing his preformance off Pat Troughton's Doctor with other elements mixed in.

      *********SPOILERS -Just in case.************

His regeneraton story-I could see Troughton deliver those lines and interacting with the younger Amy Pond. When he was being shoved into the Pandorica by the Autons I could totally see Troughton doing that and the teleprting with the Fez hat.

I still get a heavy Davison vibe tho. Like when he says, "You know when things are really bad and people say it's all going to be all right? Well it's all going to be all right!" I could totally see Davison saying that-not Tom or Colin or Sly. The scene where he pulled a piece of debris from the crack and it was the Call Box plaque and he compared it to his Tardis's plaque. I got a hint of Hartnell in that scene. His action moments seem more like Pertwee. I think physically he looks like a young Pertwee.

        Jon wasn't lanky or bow-legged.

The actor that reminds me the most of Jon Pertwee (for looks) is Danny Kaye.

He was tall and very physical with a big tuft of wild hair like Pertwee. I'm sure Pertwee wasn't so lean when he was younger.

I always thought Richard Mulligan of SOAP looked like Pertwee. So does Sir Bernard Hill who played King Theoden in LOTR.
