wow there are some great films on the hate list...

    I really like blade runner...

    Movies I thought were crap include;

2001:a space snore fest Tried to watch it a million times and it just bores the living crap out of me.

Dune,I don't care how you slice it this movie sucked big time!!!

any star trek next gen film

The fifth Element cris tucker killed the movie for me.

The matrix boring as hell, the effects are great but the films are boring.
“When you say “It’s hard”, it actually means “I’m not strong enough to fight for it”. Stop saying its hard. Think positive!”

The Man Who Fell to Earth ... Only thing worth watching is Candy Clarke nude.

But the price of that was also seeing David Bowie nude (shudder!)

I haven't watched MWFTE in a while but I remember liking it

My picks off the top of my head are

        Blade Runner
        THX 1138

E.T.- As a kid I thought he was a lame alien. As an adult I still see him as a lame alien.

          Dune- Boring.

Alien sequels- The first one was great, the others? Not even remotely close. The big honkin' exo suits just were blah to me.

          Big trouble in Little China.

Buckeroo Banzai- I know people who foam at the mouth when talking about this film. It feels like a movie I'm supposed to really like but I have no connection to it for some reason.

The Matrix- I felt like the only person in the world who found this movie a big pile of style over substance. I get why people liked it but I wanted to walk out by the final act.
I'm 100% with you on "Blade Runner" and "The Matrix". Don't people only like Buckeroo Banzai because it's bad? I've never gotten through it in one sitting, personally.

I'm with you 100%. To be fair the first 20 minutes really grabbed me - the rest was all downhill.

Total junk! The only people I know who like it were too young to watch the first one when the second one came out, so now I just chalk it up to being an age thing.

actually I love Big Trouble in Little China......it's one of those movies that is so cheesy you have to love it.....like Flash gordon
I liked Dune too, both versions, although the scifi channel mini was better
Aliens and Alien Ressurection were both good, but like already posted A3 sucked balls
I know another one people tended to hate was Lost in Space, but I liked it. thought it was pretty well made....but then I was never a fan of the TV show.
              .
predator 2 was a stinkfest. or how about that one with Dwenzel Washington where he has a cyborg arm and russel Crow is the villain....can't think of the name but the movie jus tsucked. I think the bionic woman was in that one too

I agree on some of these because a friend of mine claims the Directors are too good to make any bad films. Wrong answer! A good director can make a bad film or a film that falls a little short:

Blade Runner - I watched this in it's entirety when it first hit home video in the 80's. Slow and boring. I don't need to see further cuts.

2001 - Good SPFX do not make a good story. Kubrick gives up storytelling at this point in his career for visual art.

Dune - There are a lot of Lynch films I like -tho he is a total wierdo. He should have passed on this and directed Jedi. Then we would have a whole new can-o-worms to complain about.

Star Trek Nemesis - One friend of mine claims this is the only Next Gen film that was any good. Are you freakin` kidding me!?!?!?!

Back To The Future II - You have 4 years to do a sequel and you abandon thoughtful storytelling for Laverne and Shirley-like sitcom stupidity, ( "No-one calls me chicken!")!?!?!?! And why is it everyone seems to deliver their lines yelling thru the whole film?

Aliens 3 - the preview had Ripley exclaim, " We have no weapons?!?!?" Imitating Ridley Scott does not make you Ridley Scott.

The Matrix Reloaded - pretty bold move to contradict all the continuity you set up in the first film when you make the sequel. New history and chronologies are suggested that defy almost everything explained in the first film, ( Zion has been built 5x's before and fallen 5x's before, there have been others who manipulated the Matrix, all have met the Architect-but no-one knows these facts? Were there 5 key-masters as well?), and we're supposed to just swallow it?

I know i'm going to get a lot of heat from this one but ...

Star Trek The Wrath of Khan

I "like" the movie, but I don't love it like 99.9% of most people do.

                    A few things I don't care for ....

Khan and Kirk never actually meet.

Khan and his raggedy bunch taking over the Reliant is just unbelievable.

Besides a few space battles the whole movie is kind of boring.

This seems to be the first time when the Enterprise "crew" became the Enterprise FAMILY (which I never liked)

Agree with lots here....try to add some new ones to the mix.

Flash Gordon (1980). I have tried a million times To like this thing, but I cant. In my opinion its just plain awful. It reminds me more of Flesh Gordon than the great old flash serials or the comic strip...In fact, I'm betting deLaurentis used Flesh as a basis for this take....Plus, and I know the sparks may fly here...I hated the music.

Avatar--Ya ya, made a bazillion dollars, 3-d spectacular etc..Whatever. I found it boring. It was a mish mash of a bunch of different themes and ideas that were thrown out there about as subtly as a fart in Church. not worth all the hoopla in my book. Cameron has his moments, but a lot of his work is way over-rated in my estimation.

Star Trek (09)--On its own, its watcheable...as a life time Trekkie who grew up with Kirk and the boys..I see it as little more than a serious spoof. for starters, none of it makes sense. Unless Starfleet is plum out of good officers, no way are they going to promote a third year cadet with a juvenile delinquent record (as per Pike) to Captain of its flagship (again, as per Pike). Everybody just conveniently ended up where they were in the original after years of service...pretty hokey.

There was no need for any of it. A little rewriting would have taken care of a lot of the issues, and still left the door open for sequels with the crew in place. Instead they went with sloppy writing and flashes of light.

The original had a strong back history for its main characters that helped build them into who they were..the new film did away with all of that, and only left us with characterizations of the old cast. Everybody did their little "pointy eared hobgoblin--I'm givin' her all I've got, Beam me up Scotty" bits, but it was pretty shallow underneath.

The Black Hole-- Bad remake of 20000 Leagues under the Sea...but in space. Has its moments, but they are just too far in between a lot of dreck to keep my interest. I did like the toys though, and made my own versions of the story as a kid.

Sorry man - Trust me, I'm not mocking you. There are TONS of movies I probably think are flawless just because I was the right age at the right time. I was hanging out with some friends of mine who are in their 20s the other night and they were making fun of the acting in Star Wars. They kept mocking the line "Aww - I was going to go to toshi station to get some power converters" I was defending it and actually getting a little upset - then they started making fun of me! I can't help it, that line is so charming to me - I can't see the flaws!

You gotta remember - I saw Terminator on VHS and it was dark, violent and awesome - and then T2 came out and there was a dopey kid, and Terminator was a good guy - it just seemed kinda silly.

I agree here. This was done on purpose to eliminate all the continuity so new stories could be written. Not necessary. Write a good story make a good movie! Can't do it? You must suck at writing and film-making. Even Ron Moore of, "I'll re-imagine BSG." complained that Trek chokes on it's own continuity. The opposite is true I think. You can't remember continuity-then you're not qualified to write the story. You could'a hired 2 Trek fans to double-check continuity but nope-had to wipe the slate clean.
