You would have to see it - you are the "megoapesnut"!!!

The old Hollywood rehash machine may be at it again. I don't care for a lot of these attempts to resurrect old franchises - there has to be some original material out there but it seems as if the studios are afraid to take a chance on something new. (I'm still hoping for something original like "Hunter Prey" to hit the U.S. movie scene soon.)

Good or bad, I would see it because it's Apes.

I think the original concept (facial prostetics and cotumes)still stand the test of time and would still work even in a modern day film. A New Planet of the Apes film using the original prostetics is the "New" Ape film I want to see!

We do not need another Burtonsque mess!

A TV Show would be awesome. Probably too expensive for anyone to commit to.

I wish Fox would just get it through their collective heads the fans do not want a reimagining. We want a direct sequel/prequel.
                        .
I still think a TV show set in the world as set up in the original movies would be awesome. the original TV show,. although I love it, got too goofy with the intelligent humans they always met

While I agree with you in theory that a TV series set in the PLANET/BENEATH setting would have been great, the reality is that they almost had to have (at least semi-intelligent) talking subserviant humans to have any longevity... I know the show was on only half a season, but had it been allowed to go on, they would have needed those type of humans for storylines: I mean they could only get so far with savages raiding cornfields... In one of the APES books, it says that in addition to more storylines, they went with talking humans to allow for more guest stars...

The TV series, as it was, wasn't bad... It would have been better if they would have been able to do more episodes, that way there probably would have been more stories dealing with the apes culture... Even Roddy McDowalll said it was a mistake to focus so much on the astronauts because it was obvious by that time that it was apes the people wanted to see...
