I have never seen a movie have such MIXED reviews.
I have seen Mixed reviews before but yeesh.

I generally hate most movies, so I am really worried here.
I want to love it, but so often I feel I'm better served renting out Whale rider or something NON hero as there are often so many disappointments.
Sure I want Spidey2 or Dark Knight, but I saw kickass so I am prepared for all other hero movies to be a little less amazing by comparison.
I know IM2 won't inspire me tha much.

We are all going to see IM2. I am just preparing for the worst. I mean we all liked all the POTA sequels in the end. I will grow on me.
    Punisher Warzone grew on me.

Which movie followup would you say best represents IM2?

T3 or T-salvation - a sequel that is so-so, but grows on you.
Conan the destroyer - goofyness, but there were some improvements.
matrix 2 - a sequel too in love with itself and it's own mythos?
spiderman 3 musical numbers and too much going on?
Batman with Arnold as mr freeze campiness?
POTC Deadman's chest - pretty and grand scale movie, but sometimes dull.

I know it delivers. I just don't wanna be the guy thinking Starwars AOTC sucked and have to wait YEARS to say anything for fear of hurting people's feelings. I remember one fan girl (in her 20s) saying "Jar Jar binks was NOT Stupid" and went running off like I was the most evil person on earth. I don't think I could live with myself if I made a comment and offended a fragile fan like that.
If I ruined your day by saying that, I'm sorry.
JAR JAR binks really does suck.
It had to be said. I couldn't keep it bottled up any longer.
    Cheers,
    Guyx1

It was really great. I saw it today. It was fun and entertaining.

I'd put it on par with the first one as far as how much I enjoyed it. Which is a lot. It wasn't like any of the sequels listed above.

Just got back I took my son and it delivers.
On par with the first for sure.
It's not deep story wise but a fun entertaining film.

It is essentially just like another issue of a comic, The first being a all out origin super story, the next being an action packed story. You know good vs evil so hardly a spoiler here, but I think Whiplash went out too easily....
There are surprises and no-prizes aplenty too.

I saw Iron Man 2 today. It was a fun ride. I think it was every bit as good as the original.

This is like the blueprint all super hero sequels should follow. They didn't overload on the villains. They didn't waste a lot of time on the villain's origin story (or worse, on retconning the hero's origin). Great action sequences, but they always felt more or less organic to the plot.

I loved the whole bit, From the first reel, to the final scene! (faced with mortality, the power high, the hitting rock bottom, and getting what he needed from his father), it really had everything.

And P.S. Howard Stark will be in Captain America! (yes, a younger Howard Stark, as most of the story takes place in the 40's, but aint it cool)?

I really enjoyed it. Almost went to see it a second time. Not silly at all. Sure Nick Fury wasn't hard boiled, but I actually paid good money to see Captain America & Masters of the Universe.
The complainers seem to be real whiners. I watched the Dr Strange TV show and the IM2 movie was lightyears better. Reminded me of a comicbook character study.

                      Can't wait for more
                      Cheers,

One reviewer said that the humor was silly. Obviously they never sat thru conan the destroyer, or Batman & Robin.
I thought it felt like the same tone as the last one.
They packed A LOT into it, but I felt it all came together in the end.

I have no idea where the negative backlash is coming from.
Been a long time since I saw the theaters so packed, so it doesn't seem like the nay sayers are getting to people.
                          Cheers,

I'm a naysayer I guess...but I'm not looking to keep people from the theatre I'm just not an avid of the franchise from the start.
If its a hit that most enjoyed...bless 'em.

Thanks for the answer to my "silly" question...heck, I thought Garry Shandling was the best part of the movie...silly or not silly
