    New Doctor Who Trailer

    This was shown on the BBC yesterday, it doesn't look too bad but is corny in places (that line in particular). It looks like they've got the teens demographic in mind;

New Series Trailers are usually horribly bad and don't reflect the show that's actually produced ....... Remember the one with the Tennant/Martha face meld ?

God, that gazing into each other's eyes bit was unnecessary.

Wow, please, no romance in the Tardis?!

I wonder if that's the new time tunnel from the credits.

I dunno, I think the whole trailer could be a ringer put out there designed for Who freaks to misinterpret.

What makes me think this is the ending theme of the trailer is the Tennant #2 version, which I highly suspect they won't use in the new series.

Everybody's starting to think that it is the new time vortex, I guess it would make sense if it was. I hope it is as it doesn't look too shabby at all.

The theme at the end of the trailer is from the last season. Murray Gold has re-arranged the theme for season 5, it hasn't been heard yet.

I know this would never happen but i'd love to see another old crotchity Doctor like William Hartnell.

There was something about Hartnell that commanded more respect than any other Doctor after him.

These new Doctors are too similiar to eachother starting with Davison ......

Colin Baker can hardly be called lovable....

But you're right: enough of this softness. Give us a man of science, not a loverboy...

Colin Baker started off fine - he was different -- but they softened him up by Trial of a Time Lord.

I guess they wanted to give Peri a break...

And don't talk to me about Trial.
I'm having a real hard time sitting through this box set.

                          That entire season was awful

I hate to say it, but it don't get any better

Even the final story is a turkey, imo

It's as if the brass said: This is children's TV, and therefore it must be silly and childish. We don't care who watches it, we wish it canceled anyway, so we'll treat it as a farce.
Problem is, they couldn't even make it funny!

I pity Baker and Bryant for having to make the best of all that. They were lost from the start.

Hear, hear! It was like watching car crash TV, they never really recovered from that mess. I too would love to see another old crotchity Doctor, it's a shame they didn't cast Bill Nighy, as he would have been perfect for the role.

It's all too fast paced these days and aimed towards kids and teens. They would never be able to warm to a whingy old guy, like us whingy old guys would (speaking for myself of course).

Larry David for the next Doctor!
