At my big lots I picked up Hammer's the mummy and another 2 film set that inlcudes taste the blood of dracula and one of my favs "curse of frankenstein". They were $3 each and I may have to go back to get some more! I also saw "the brood" which is another classic cronenberg film from the 70's.

I've said this before but to me HD just looks like regular TV with the settings turned up to "vivid" -- which is a combo of brighter picture and higher contrast.

HD doesn't do anything for me.

I know the feeling, i use as a rule of thumb the "40 year old Virgin" rule. I have to ask, is this going to enhance the movie? It isn't going to make 40yov any funnier, so I will pass, However does it make The Dark Knight look better...yes, that warrants a purchase.

I noticed the other day that the WalMart here had the remastered Trek for $19.99 each and they had a bunch of all three seasons, but since I already own two sets (one set still sealed) I passed on getting them. I mentioned it on a Trek forum a few days later and had requests to buy them for a few people and when I went back they had only two sets left so I got lucky, but now they are all sold out.
Guess there is a big Star Trek fan base here in PR to have them sell out that fast. Either that or many locals did what I did and bought them for family or friends in the states or elsewhere...
Capt. Kirk: "Is there anyone on this ship, who even remotely, looks like Satan?"
Mr. Spock: "I am not aware of anyone who fits that description, Captain"
Capt. Kirk: "No, Mr. Spock, I didn't think you would be"

My favorite Walmart score to date; Filmations Star Trek cartoons collection for $15. I waited and waited for the SRP to come down on this set. Well worth the wait!
            I found some good scores from Safeway of all places;
            Magilla Gorilla
            Wacky Racers
            Mad TV season 1
            Thundercats season 2 volume 2
            $6 each
They also had 3 sets of the Filmation Aquaman cartoons. I paid full price from mine little over a year ago.

I don't buy but a new DVD movie every rare now and then.

Just got back from BigLots, I've noticed that the stock varies from store to store here in Olympia.
              Three DVDs for $3 each:
              The Mummy 1959 Hammer
              Horror of Dracula 1957 Hammer
Mutiny on the Bounty 1935 MGM
Best $10 I've spent in a long time.

I've been buying a lot of anime from Big Lots recently. I bought Horror of Dracula today.

The only reason I'd get a blu ray is for the netflix streaming capability, I just didn't want to make the commitment if I had to get another set, too.

My wife and I watched Horror of Dracula last night. She claimed he didn't look like Christopher Lee. She has such a crush on the actor he is today.Me on the otherhand, I grew up on this stuff. Lots of fun!
