I have picked up quite a few of the sets, have maybe half of the overall series run. I like it and have enjoyed the episodes I have. it can be a little slow at times but the show itself is pretty cool and has a certain 70's charm to it. I guess if nothing else it is nostalgia. I realy liked the show as a kid.

I am a big enough fan of the series to have gotten them when they were first released (more expensive). I like Season 1 more than season 2.Comment

ok best time to mention this is now:
I have sets 1 and 2 (the first 12 eps) and i DO NOT need them. Pretty much you pay shipping and they are yours!!!!!
I picked up the original huge 17(or was it 18) disc set when the thing was over 100$. They then re-released this in much slimmer cases and dropped the price more than half (figures)
SO whomever shoots me a PM will get sets 1 and 2 (first 12 eps) and you pay shipping only"What motivated him to throw a puppy at the Hells Angels is currently unclear,"

I've been watching the first season again, episode here and there. I still prefer it, but then again I didn't see much of it as a kid. I really approached Space 1999 as adult watching, with hardly any remembrances. I think I would have found the first super boring as a kid. All I'd say is, if you can, see both. There's a few on youtube right now if you can stand watching them that way. But definitely sit through both once.Comment

Season-1, especially the first half of the season had a nice unusual feel to it ... They hated being on Alpha and couldn't wait to evacuate to a suitable planet.
The last half of Season-1 and all of Season-2 they seemed more like they were on the Star Ship Enterprise just cruising along in space and having normal Star Trek style adventures.Comment

I watched some more episodes this weekend. I think I like season 2 better specially since more episodes were done on location not in film stages.I do miss Professor Bergman character.but I like the Bil Frasier and Tony Verdichi characters alot.Comment
