Pick one: Holodeck or transporter?

I guess it's time I answered my own question. I would want a holodeck. Just think...I could meet (and be involved with) all the famous people I want, go anywhere in the world, (heck the universe!), I could go home to NYC in the 70s, see my family again, play w/ all the old school toys, and all w/o ruining the fabric of time!

Holodeck would provide limitless fun and I wouldn't have to worry about my molecules getting mixed up in a transporter accident.

Real world, no brainer, Transporter. My only hesitation would be .. The Fly

The transporter would have unexpected drawbacks as well -- if they were commonplace.

Suddenly there would be no more snowday's from work.

Alcoholics would get worse considering they're only a second away from any ginmill or liquor store.

You have no excuse to cancel when invited to parties, get-togethers and other functions you don't feel like attending.

Terrorists would have a field day.

Holodeck. Transporter doesn't do anything you can't do now (pretty much). Just gets you places faster. Holodeck can take you anywhere you can imagine . . .

Transporter: no more car needed, no more insurance, no more taxes, not more gas. You just saved yourself a fortune right there. You wanna go on holiday? No more expensive plain tickets, another fortune saved. Not necessary, eh? Must be fun being a millionaire

There is no doubt the Transporter would be the better of the two for Humanity. Quite possibly the best and most beneficial thing ever if it were to become reality. Imagine the problems it would solve.

However, if I could be selfish for one moment, I'd take a crack at Raquel Welch circa 1968....err, I mean I'd choose the Holodeck.
