that rumour has been going around pretty much since the first movie came out. It would be neat, plus this would be Kirks first meeting with Kahn in the new timeline so they can go for broke with it

If the next movie is an alternate time-line of the Classic Series first season, i'd rather see something more "epic" than another Kahn story ...

Perhaps a war (that never should have happened) with The First Federation.

a war with the first federation would be cool.....but does the average person know who that is? I doubt it. Abrams is trying to appeal to the fan base but also to the masses so I doubt they would go in that direction.

by the way, did you ever see the new movie Mike?

          No I didn't

A person promised me he'd send me a DVDr of it a few months ago but he never came through.

Reboot the franchise and already go to the well with a re-do of the most popular Trek movie ever....maybe they don't have faith in the new approach?

But it can't be a remake of the movie. He hasn't met Kahn yet, it would have to be a remake of the TV show, space seed.

I don't think it would be a remake at all....it would be a new adventure with first time meeting, probably with some elements from the Space Seed episode and from WOK and would go in a completely new direction

The problem with Kahn is he's just not big enough to deserve a movie.

IMO, even Wrath of Kahn was only good because it came after The Motion Picture.

If these movies are going to succeed, they need a bigger threat then junkie Kahn and his little band of nasties.

I don't believe this one, I think Klingons will be involved in the sequel but I'm not excited about that either.

What if the klingons have no forehead ridges? What if the klingons look like they did in the original series? That would be cool. And I think kirk needs a pet tribble. And a pet orion slave girl.

It's true that the second Abrams installment will focus on the Kahn character, rumored to be played by Nestor Carbonell and for those that don't know him, he played Mayor Anthony Garcia in the Dark Knight and Richard Alpert in the Lost series. However, it's in pre-production so things can change, as always.

I don't know why you are wasting your time typing that...lol.

I gave up convincing Mike long ago.

If he never watches it...I'll be just as happy.
