Which Classic Doctor Who DVD should I buy ???

I would never buy a real Dr Who DVD because they're too expensive and I don't have the money, but .... I just got one of them free $20.00 Paypal/ebay promos so I think i'm going to break down and buy myself A REAL Doctor Who DVD for Christmas ... Hey, it's free

So, I have a favs list i'm trying to narrow down to one choice.
Thought maybe yous could help me decide.
I really would like Inferno but it's a 2 disc set and costs over 20 bucks -- so Inferno is disqualified.

Here's a list of ones I really want and are under 20.00
    Which would you chose ?

    The Brain of Morbius
    Robot
City of Death (might be over 20)
    The Three Doctors
Remembrance of the Daleks (might be over 20)
    The Time Warrior
    Robots of Death
    Carnival of Monsters

I'd suggest The Three Doctors because..well you get 3, 3 times the Doctor for the money! The Master, Daleks, Cybermen, Jamie, Zoe, Susan(!)and more...it's like a K-tel's The Doctor's Greatest Hits!

Isn't this story (and the Five Doctors as well) a bit of a cheat with one of the Doctor barely in the action, appearing only an a viewscreen (or trapped in an unproduced story.. er, time eddy).

    The runnders-up:
Brain of Morbius has a great horror-movie atmosphere and Sarah Jane too!
With Robots of Death you get a sci-fi whodunnit with a bunch of Mr Roboto suspects along with the crew (and Leela!).

Maybe they don't look as similar as I thought.

I'd probably vote for the 3 Doctors too, just because I love the interaction between the 2nd and 3rd Doctor.

Brain of Morbius is cool, but more like a Hammer horror movie. Nice DVD featurette though.

Robot is Baker's debut, but not the best story around.

      I'd go Three Doctors.

'Time Warrior' was a nice, basic adventure with the 3rd Doctor. Nice pacing, good action, excellent scenery, Sarah Jane's first adventure.

Pound for pound, it's a pretty straight forward action-adventure, with some nice stylish touches by Jon Pertwee.

Baker..? I'd go with Pyramids of Mars or City of Death.

Actually, the robots from The Robots of Death remind me of The Hosts from the Titanic episode.

3 Doctors of course is good but i would relly go for better stories.

1 Robots of Death- classic murder mystery cool, plus LEELA!

2 Carnival of Monsters- a fun Pertwee romp!

3 Brain of Morbius- Just Classic!
"Hang on Lady... We go for a RIDE!" - Shorty to Willie Scott.Best movie line from Indiana Jones & the Temple Of Doom

              Morbius was intentionally Hammereque

You are actually mixing up 3 doctors with 5 doctors (both have cheat apperances by a missing doctor) but 3 doctors didn't have guest companions only the then current ones or cool villians like the daleks or cybermen (but Omega was cool in his own way)

City of death is one of my favorites, the douglas adams humor stamp, Lalla int he shoolgirl dress, Julian glover and no freaking maroon suit for Tom

one of the high water mark episodes especially for one shot entirely in the studio. Interstingly one of the few stories ever released on laserdisc (albeit the cut down whovie and only in UK PAL)

The funny thing is I was refreshing my memories of the episodes in question (and 5 Doctors) by looking at the story summaries and still mixed them up.

I couldn't have said it better myself. The Third Doctor is one of my favorites plus it also features the first use of the star tunnel opening sequence.

Pyramids of Mars would be one of my last choices.

I personally think it's one of the slowest most boring stories of the Tom Baker/Sarah Jane Smith era.

Well, yes and no.., I agree with the slow pacing, especially in the 2nd and 3rd episodes (episodes 1 and 4 keep the pace up quite well..), but if I look at other favorites of mine like 'Masque of Mandragora', 'Genesis of the Daleks', the earlier Cyberman ep and others, it's really the same.

I like the grandeous, horror-movie approach 'Mars' has, similar to 'Morbius', but the 'Morbius' witches segments sort of dragged on for me.

                              Both are SUPER Baker entries..
