Star Trek on DVD Today !

I just watched the film and before I give my opinion I have to say that even though I am a fan of Star Trek, I only became a fan of the original series about 2 years ago. I never cared for it as a kid partly because I was caught up in the "Star Trek or Star Wars" conflict where I was told you could only like one or the other. Oddly enough, as an adult I like Star Trek more. Since becoming a fan of the original Trek, I have become very fond of the original crew and the actors who portrayed them. When the new film came out I declared within myself that I wouldn't watch it, but as often happens I have proven myself wrong. I even told myself before I watched it that it would suck and I would hate it. I think I was determined to believe that before I started.

And now my review...

It didn't suck. I wanted to hate it, but I couldn't. I actually got pulled in pretty quickly. I liked the new actors for the most part, although my favorite is the new Spock. He looked perfect and maybe I'm a little biased because I like the character so much, but the new guy had me thinking he was a young Leonard Nimoy. It was kind of weird. Maybe it's just the hair and the ears, but he is a great looking Spock. Bones was also very good and eventually even the new Kirk won me over. Maybe my new-ness to the classic Trek is a factor here since I haven't been a fan for very long, but I actually liked this movie. I really really didn't want to. Trust me on that. I wanted more than anything to come away thinking, "What a piece of crap." But I can't. I'll never like it more than the originals, but I am eager to see a sequel. If a sequel wins me over, I'll admit wholeheartedly to being a fan of "New Trek".

Ok gang,

I picked the three disc movie/DVD/Blue Ray up today as previously mentioned. I will be giving it a watch tonight. This really sounds good and I am sure that I will not be disapointed with this one.

It has been a long time since I have actually went out and bought a new movie. I have yet to open up the package yet as I just got it not long ago. I will let you guys know what I think of it the next time I login here. (I promise Damian that I will not stay gone a month "this time" any way. )

I am kind of anxious to see this movie now as it is sounding better all the time. For the record I did get the special edition package as well. I could not resist as I am a sucker for stuff like this.

I seen that advertised in the Sunday paper. It kind of looked cool. I hope that it is cool as it looked. I "might" have to pick one up.

It's actually a nice little Enterprise replica. Nothing spectacular, but it's cool. The 2 blu rays (or DVD's) are in the saucer section

Jason I liked it so much, I went out to Target last night and bought it on Blu-Ray for $19.99. Watched it again and loved it even more. Man, the picture on the Blu-ray is just breathtaking.

Going to pick it up tomorrow,I've been waiting for the dvd.I took my son to see it at the theatre twice.
We were not disappointed at all.I loved seeing Nimoy on screen again this film is destined to be an instant classic.

Just saw it and man was I right!! this movie is freakin awesome!! better then any of the old ones I'm sorry but it's the truth

Hmmm....It is hard for me to imagine it being better than any of the old Trek films. I must definitely buy it now and see for myself. I have been hearing a lot of great reviews about it even from those like myself that were still kind of skeptical of the new film. It must be pretty darn good. Thank you for your input on this.

If you get your Copy at Target... it comes with a DVD Case that is the StarShip Enterprise. Cool Stuff !
