At the beginning of Star Trek IV on the Bird of Prey. McCoy wants to have a talk with Spock about his coming back from the dead. Spock says that he can't describe it for him without a common frame of reference to which McCoy grumbles and responds that he would have to die and come back in order to have a conversation.
Well, didn't McCoy die in the "Shore Leave" when he was gutted by the black knight that charged him and the planets "keeper" brings him back out at the end alive?
