The last pic of Ricardo boxing looks like he has a huge scar down the inside of his left furry leg?And above his knee. Was he in some kind of accident?
I don't know the details (but I'm sure it can be found online somewhere) but yes, he was injured at some point (I think in the 50's?) and he walked with a limp but tried hard to not let it show.

Why does Kirk have to wear glasses, I know he is allergic to retnox 5 but why not Lysak laser eye surgery? They have phasers for crying out loud...
In 82 that type of surgery wasn't even in planning stages. I knew a kid that had failed corrective lens surgery in 86 (with scalpels) where he was day blind the rest of his lfe (had to wear the scott sommers/cyclops full coverage sunglasses even inside).
sure today lasik is commonplace but 27 years ago not so much.

Yeah but this was star trek, remember McCoys little medical instruments that could repair utter brain damage by waving around your head...LOL
You can rewire a brain but can't repair a little Macular degeneration???
Just seemed like they were trying to hammer the point that he was aging.
“When you say “It’s hard”, it actually means “I’m not strong enough to fight for it”. Stop saying its hard. Think positive!”

While making the 1951 Gable western "Across the Wide Missouri," Montalban fell from a horse and injured both his leg and spine. The injury caused him to walk with a limp, which he tried to mask during performances. In recent years, he had been confined to a wheelchair.

He did a damn fine job I never really noticed.
One of the truly Best actors ever!!!

true but even by the early 80's brain surgery wasn't uncommon (and after all it wasn't a medical drama where they get doctors as consultants who would have known about the then uncommon corrective lens surgery)
Was just watching Wrath of Kahn for the 300th time ...There's a few things that always bug me...Carol saying, "can I cook, or can't I" .......Wouldn't the proper way of saying that be "can I cook, or can I cook" m
I don't really see a difference Mike. Either is acceptable. What bothered me more is they started referring to the ship as Enterprise, as if it were a character or real person instead of "The" Enterprise as they did in the series.

Their communicators are laughably too big. They look look like cocktail weenie tins, m
There was an article in Starlog after the film was released where they stated that many props were rented from a shop in Hollywood rather than pay the props dept. to design and build all new props for this film. They weren't too happy with the props from ST-TMP. You may notice that the wrist communicator used by Tyrell is also different. The Tricorder in this film is oversized and bulky. It has a hand-hold and is aimed like a gun. It was never designed to be a ST prop. It was an original design that was rented. The only known facsimilies I have seen of these props are the tiny one that came with the Playmates ST-II action figures. I think that tricorder popped up in another film in the 1980's. I wish I could remember what it was tho.

The whole "hours would seem like days" coded speach .....Seems to me Mr Logical would not be able to understand that Kirk is giving him a code. Also, on that same note -- EVERYONE including Kahn should be able to see right through that code. m
Mike, you can't spell speech either? Most people never saw thru the code. I didn't. Kirk and Spock know each other so well. They should be able to understand when one or the other is pulling their leg or exaggerating. Also the tip off to us as the audience should have been that Spock is giving the estimate as to ships repair time rather than Scotty. Shouldn't that have clued us in on it just for that fact? It went over all our heads. That's what a good story does tho, Mike. That's a plot twist. A good surprise.

When Kirk explains to Saavik how the Enterprise is going to lower the Reliants shields he says ..... TO PREVENT AN ENEMY FROM DOING WHAT WE'RE ATTEMPING ...Does this sentence sound right in the context of what's happening in the film ? m
I was bothered by this when I first saw the film but I've seen it so many times I hardly notice it now. I was confused by the fact that they were teaching Saavik something while in a real situation. Shouldn't she know this already? This is like the kitchen scene in ST-6 where they explain using a phaser would trigger the alarm. If Chekov know this why did Valeris have to explain it to him? It's interesting tho that Khan went for a frontal assault instead of tapping into the Enterprise's computer to cripple them.

Why does Captain Terrel not have any problem killing anyone -- but he'd rather commit suicide then kill Kirk? Is he afraid he'll get in big trouble ? m
That is a good point. He can't carry out some action unless ordered to but you could say in that brief moment the eel's influence waivered or the pain was so great he snapped out of it and he knew the only way out was to kill himself because Kirk would be the only person who could stop Khan.

McCoy's clothes when he's visiting Kirk at Kirks house ....Did McCoy stop at Kirk's on the way home from the Blue Oyster Bar ? m
It doesn't look that bad. Notice in ST-III Chekov's outfit is different in the second 1/2 of the film? Walter Koenig was unhappy with his costume for its Buster Brown collar.

Would the man who slaughtered everyone on the space station actually show mersey and beam down the Reliant's crew to Ceti Alpha 5 ?
......
and if this really did happen ... should we assume most are dead because of the harsh conditions ? I can't imagine Kahn giving them all a space suit.
Maybe he beemed them all in his little living room. m
Mercy Mike. It would make sense tho. Strand Reliant's crew as Khan and his crew were stranded. That would be revenge. At this point Khan is not raging to get Kirk. He has not been frustrated yet. Perhaps he would do this.

Also, how did Kahn manage to get the whole Reliant crew off the Reliant ? Ok, Tyrell and Chekov were under Kahn's control, but what did they say to the crew to get them all to leave the ship ? m
Khan probably took control of Reliant with the help of Tyrell and Chekov giving them orders under his control. Anyone who didn't co-operate was probably killed and the rest of the people probably fell in line after that. It doesn't take much to see that scenario play out. Reliant was a smaller ship too. Maybe there were less people than Enterprise on board.

Why does both Kirk and Kahn target each others impulse drives, warp drives and weapons areas ? Wouldn't it be smarter to target the bridge ? m
Actually what was Sulu aiming for? The phasers miss the bridge at first and then it sweeps to the right and the Dylithium Crystal Dome goes up in flames. Maybe Sulu was aiming for the Reliant's bridge but the targeting system was damaged? He shot too far to the left and swept right? Then he shot over the bridge and hit the crystal? Anyway wouldn't they be compelled to take prisoners? To have someone alive to question? To find out what happened? If you look at the scene, Kirk thought Khan might do this to the Enterprise, because he says, "Clear the Bridge." on his ship.
Actually I think that "Clear the Bridge" comment is directed to the fire control team standing there in the back with the extinguishers. With Terrel, I always thought that the eel's influence was coming to an end, but since Khan kept on saying "shoot," with a last bit of willpower he turns the phaser around so that when he involuntarily pulls the trigger he shoots himself and not Kirk.
