I remember liking the Starbuk/Cylon episode.

That's about the only one I liked from 1980

The Cylon episode was the ONLY decent episode of Galactica 80 period. The rest was hooey.Even the flying bikes (which were actually built for the aborted second season of the original series)....Keep pretending G80 never existed mattelmike..You'll live longer!

The only way that box set is worth buying is if it comes with a vomit bag!!!!

I agree. The Cylon/Starbuck episode was a really good one, but it was a gem in a pile of crap. I would get me a copy of that and be done with it.

I haven't thought about that show in years LOL. I know for a fact that I will not be purchasing that set. Watching it once was enough for me. The Starbuck/Cylon episode was really cool though

              Hmmmm....

They showed 1980 on cable a few years back and it's NOT any better than I remembered. It's really, REALLY bad. The very first episode is okay, then they do part 2 and travel back in time, then there are Space Scouts.... *shudder*

The Starbuck episode isn't bad, and the Human Cylon one is really hokey but okay in a B-Movie sort of way. But unless you find it for $5 somewhere AND have a HUGE tolerance for cheese I'd probably avoid the boxed set.

I was always hoping we'd see a scene of Starbuck waking up and saying: "Oh, my, what a nightmare. Thank the Lords of Kobold that never happened..."

I'd buy it for $5, though.
I have a table with one leg that's shorter, and the Galactica 1980 box set is just thick enough...

I'd buy it for $3 if they get it at Big Lots.
It's worth that just for the Starbuck episode.

That G1980 is the worst piece of garbage. They did a hatchet job on the shows budget
make it into a kiddie show and then have it try to compete with 60 minutes at 7:00 sunday.
no one i know in school like it, except the Starbuck episode.
if they can go back in time, why not stop the cyclon attack, Richard Lynch was wasted

I've bought it and have watched it. It does not compare to the original season, but it is mindless fun. Just do not expect anything great out of it and you are all right.
                      It's all good!

it was horrible. the acting was bad, the stories were bad and the effects were bad. Just plain crap. The new characters they introdued were stupid and annoying as hell and Adama looked bad with a beard. The Starbuck episode was good though.

I have the return of Starbuck and I reoorded the rest off Scifi years ago it's certainly going to prevent me from dipping in this pool. the show was dreadful. I break out halloween episode once a year much like the SW holloday special for some good cheesy fun

I bought it to be a completist, what can I say? I love Robyn Douglass. This show is a dog tho. Bad acting and story situations that defy all surreal-ality!!!
Thing is Issac Asimov was to have come aboard to write SF stories for the Galactica to find Earth if Galactica had a Second season. That never happened but read Asimov's: Foundation & Earth sometime and I think you'll see what he had in mind for Galactica.

I bought it for the Starbuck episode (and it was nice to see Lorne Greene again).
