Tom Baker returns to Doctor Who!!!!

Tom Baker Returns to Doctor Who after 28 Years! | Once Upon a Geek

Yeah, it's just in audio form, but it's TOM BAKER!

After nearly 30 years away from the part, Tom Baker is returning to Doctor Who! Baker has recorded five audio dramas that will be released by the BBC starting in September at a rate of one a month. While I’m sure we’d all love to see Baker on the new television series, audio is really the more logical choice given Tom’s age and health. Tom Baker’s Doctor will be joined by former Who cast member Richard Franklin reprising his role as Mike Yates.

That's great... he was definitely my favorite Doc growing up...

Just don't scare us like that... I thought you meant on TV (even only as a time paradoxed previous Doctor guest star...)

I'd rather see fat old Tom Baker as the new Doctor Who rather then that weird shaped head kid they just hired.

At this point, I'd gladly accept a live-action older Tom Baker Who or even a CGI or animated (direct to DVD) younger Baker Who...

That wild look in his eye and the ear to ear grin just before saving the universe was great, no matter how many times we saw it ...

Hey that's an idea! How about an animated Who with Baker's voice?
I think that might be awesome.

Tom Baker himself was the only reason he hasn't done any other Doctor Who audios before now. Big Finish would have been using him for years if he really wanted to do it. he probably just kept asking to be paid more than everyone else.

but i'll be glad to hear him make new stories and would love a casrtoon series voiced by him!

Even if true, I think (IMHO) that he'd be worth every extra dollar!!

They're making it look like Tom hasn't done anything Dr Who related since he left in 1981.

Didn't he do Shada afterward ?

TOTALLY, TOTALLY agreed.. I have his original 'Pescaton' album on CD with him and Sarah Jane and his dramatic readings and voicing is clearly the BEST..!

                        Worth.. Every.. Penny..!

I'm still hunting down the CD copies of 'Genesis of the Daleks' and another one he did, but they're quite rare. It's fun playing it on long drives, even after repeated hearings.
