I wish they would make Gwen immortal.

Eve Myles is great at making really nutty-crazy facial expressions... specifically doing the bulgie eye bit.

Having her come back to life would be really entertaining

I'd like to see more Torchwood but wonder if RTD is skiddish because he no longer controls the "Whoniverse" so to speak. Torchwood was built on "Change is coming" and well, you can't change the Torchwood England without it affecting Doctor Who now.

I wish RTD would do something else for a change, like Eastenders.
Before you know it, half the street is hit by an atom blast, killing off 80% of the cast.

Honestly, the way they decimated the team gives me the message of "all heroes must die" (unless immortal). I know that's realism, but I could use some hope right now.
I still miss the previous casualties. And the latest....

I think killing Yanto off was a big-big mistake... especially since the actor himself didn't want to leave.

One of my nephews is a HUGE Torchwood fan ...
He's openly gay and has a lot of gay friends who are also big Torchwood fans.

He was telling me everyone is really p-ed off at RTD for sacking Yanto ... (which many of them consider HIM the star of the show more then even Jack).

Reading around the internet, I noticed my nephew and his buddies views are not isolated.
Seems like a lot of people out their are really p-ed off at RTD for killing Yanto.

They may have lost a lot of viewers even if a season 4 is produced.

I loved Yanto. In a heterosexual way....
Now let's go drink some beer and chew tobacco...

Seriously. I think it was a huge mistake. He had a great sense of humour. Very capable, he was the guy that kept the base up and running.
They've now disappointed the Asian community, the gay community,...

            Bad move!

I still didn't see Day-5 as of today but if they leave the idea that Jack really did give away those 12 kids in 1965 to the aliens, his character is totally ruined and trashed from now on.

I was disappointed to see Ianto go, which is odd because I HATED him during season one.

                  >I know that's realism, but I could use some hope right now.

Well.... then Torchwood probably isn't the show for you.

                  >the way they decimated the team gives me the message of "all heroes must die"

OR that heroes have to make serious sacrifices for the good of others.

                  >I think killing Yanto off was a big-big mistake

It's a weird thing though; it bothers people, but it's SUPPOSED to bother you. I think folks are used to shows where they don't kill the popular characters, and things work out, and the story resets at the end.... which is FINE; but not the only way to do things. And that's what I like about Torchwood; it's not like most shows.

I was kinda shoked when Ianto died too; but it didn't ruin the show for me. Didn't break the reality at all since it was a perfectly plausible thing to happen. It DID put an edge on things, which again for me; most shows lack.

Seriously; what other show do you watch and genuinely fear for the team when the fighting starts?

                  Don C.

I'd much rather have a TV show that I can depend on.

When TV get's too realistic the escapism disappears and so does a lot of fans.

                      I don't mind realism.
                      Or characters dying.
I miss Tosh, but I thought her death was very gripping, and well-written. Owen's "death" (is he really dead?) was terrible (imagine being stuck in there forever).
But to kill off just about everyone?

Hey, maybe next time, Gwen could have a miscarriage, Rhys could leave her, and Jack could get buried in cement again.
                      Happy, happy days....

I don't mind grim, I loved series 3, but you always need a glimmer of hope.
Now bring back Ianto. Alive and well.

The only problem is, you run the risk of jading your audience I guess. People might not get attached to Torchwood2.0 for fear of losing all the characters again.

Either or as long as it's not during.

Well, I just finished the last episode.

I'm guessing Jack transported away at the end so he can conveniently show up for Tennant's final story.

It wasn't a bad story ... But for me it lacks rewatchability like the past season's... I can't imagine too many people who have seen it already on TV going out and buying the DVD's.

My biggest complaint is the halfass ending (the destruction of the aliens). It was too quick and easy... It's like -- WHY DIDN'T THEY DO THIS ON DAY 1 ?
