It is difficult to believe that it has been 10 years, what have we done in all that time that is worth remembering?

All us fun loving types love Jar Jar.

When it came out on VHS, my wife bought it because she liked the fight at the end. I taped an epsiode of "Justice League" over it a couple of years later at her request.

Now my son wants to see it, he asked me last night actually and it feels weird to go and rent a movie I hate.

I have an idea. For it's tenth anniversary let's transfer the original copy to flammable nitrate stock.

I was never a diehard Star Wars fan, but I was looking forward to seeing it. Took my nephew to see it and fondly remember buying cheap lightsabers and playing with him afterwards. The movie didn't hold up nearly as well as the memory. There are several things that are so right, but so much that is so wrong. Jar Jar, little Anni and his wooden acting, and Queen Amidalla/Padme's stilted dialog.

There are alot of people hating on this movie? Why? I want to see you make a better one...I don't really like it...But it's WAY better than episode II....Episode III was the best in the 2nd Trilogy.

                  >I look back on the movie fondly for what I DID like about it---
Obi, Qui Gon and the whole Jedi group patrolling the galaxy,
as well as a glance at a young Palpatine/Sidious.

....and them spinning shield-equipped droids of death! WOOOOO!!!!!

                  >I want to see you make a better one...

I'd love to; but nobody'll front me 50 mil. (I could do it for 5, but I got a mortgage....)

I think the average fan of the series or novels could have scripted a superior story than what Lucas came up with. He took alot for granted with the Star Wars label and has since said as much. By the time 'Sith' came around he had Spielberg helping him with the script. I think that speaks volumes for the rest.

Lucas needs to redeem himself in a big way he's heading the right way with writting and Producing Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal skull which was one of the few films I actually liked last year and maybe we will see a turn around when the live action Star Wars show hit in two years .

The Trade Federation dudes, speaking in that awful "yellow peril" accent...was borderline racist imo.
