    10th Anni of Phantom Menace

It's been 10 years since Phantom Menace opened.

    Worth noting?

    Time does get by.

This is one movie that didn't improve with age.

I still hate it just as much as I did 10 years ago

Boy, time seems to move fast these days. I remember in '87 when Star Wars was 10 years old and thinking that had been a long time.
        It's all good!

10 years! I hate that movie even more now - I don't think I've ever felt so old!

When I watched it the first time I blocked out the irritating parts
(mostly via JJ and young Ani) as they appeared (I was so psyched just
to be seeing a new SW movie).

I left the theatre quite exhilirated.

It didn't take long for me to realize that I had oversold the movie to myself.

              Still,
I look back on the movie fondly for what I DID like about it---
Obi, Qui Gon and the whole Jedi group patrolling the galaxy,
as well as a glance at a young Palpatine/Sidious.

              HAPPY BIRTHDAY EPISODE ONE!

Doesn't any have a Copy of the "Fan Edit" of this Film(Attack of the Phantom)?? Amost all of Jar Jar's sceens are cut...and when he is in it, he speakes in an Alien Language with subtitles.

Love to get my hands on a Copy of it!

While I agree, it's a terribly flawed movie and flawed trilogy. I actually liked the political aspects of the movie and how crafty Palpatine was in duping everyone so he could seize power in the Senate and basically turn a republic into a dictator shape — shades of Ceasar and more specifically Hitler. It's worth to point out that we should be wary of power and question its intentions. There's a lot of good stuff in it, but a lot of crap, too.

But the second trilogy is a clear lesson in being careful about what you wish for.

The first trilogy was fun for fun's sake
                          That why everyone loved it.

The second trilogy was totally different.
It was endless explanations and details -- powdered with what Lucas thought was a bit of the old fun formula.

It didn't work because it was made to appeal to Star Wars fans.

I hope Jar Jar and Darth Maul get their own spin-off show together.
                              It'll be a million laughs!

"At last, we will have our revenge of the Jedi!"
"Meesa happy to see Ani again, too!"
                              "We will destroy them all!"
"Meesa also happy to see nice Mr. Palpatine again!"

Sound of light saber cutting someone in half.

                              End of pilot episode......
                              .
                              .
                              .
