From what I saw of the clip, it looks very clean, slick, shiny, sterile and dull as paint.

I am a fan of the original miniseries, which was excellent.

The sequel, which was okay, was more into the science fiction aspect than the miniseries, but was a bit lacking here and there. It was kind of soap opera-ish when it came to the relationships.

The series, except for a few episodes, sucked lemons big time.

Lemons the size of a Buick.

Sure, the special effects are all slick and glossy (gotta love that CGI), but we all know the plotline. The only difference will be with the ending.

Is it really worth sitting through the entire thing just to see how it ends?

I say we wait until the last night of the broadcast, five minutes before the end and check it out to see whether or not the Earth goes "BOOM!"

I thought the V mini-series/FINAL BATTLE were cool when I was a kid
and it certainly remains one of the most important "aliens take over
the Earth" stories, but looking back, it seems notably dated as far as the
      writing and acting
(not to mention the FX, but, really, that's obvious, isn't it?).

This remake could actually up the ante when it comes to less cringe-worthy
amatuer "TV movie" moments----one thing that'd be great would be if they
picked up the pace a bit-----because much of the old stuff in V seems
      to lag.

Regardless, I don't think I could stomach watching the old V----even for
nostalgia's sake---so, hopefully for my sake, this new V will be a winner.

The whole pop of the first series was the "Not Knowing" what the visiters true natures were until it was mouse chomping face ripping time.

The original being a bit before main stream blogging lacked the whole "lets leak all the good stuff" before the series even aired.

I don't know how enjoyable it will be going into it knowing pretty much what will happen.

Lo there do I see my Father.
Lo there do I see my Mother and my Sisters and my Brothers.
Lo there do I see the line of my people back to the begining.
        Lo they do call me.
They bid me take my place among them.

I would LOVE to see a remake Space:1999....it died before its time...but a new version should ......lets say that in 1999 a discovery on earth led to proof of an ancient base on the moon.....now in present day a mission is finally ready to go to the moon and visit the base.....which leds to the further discovery of another base on another moon base in our solar system....we go there and the saga begins

Those were my thoughts on the Titanic movie but that turned out to be quite entertaining.
