this version has nothing to do with Kenneth Johnson the original creator of the original mini-series from 1983.The version that Im waiting for is based on his book V-the second generation which came out about a year ago. ABC dropped everything that made the original such classic another reaminged garbage.this is going to be a freaken disaster.Kenneth Johnson said on his web page he wishes the new production good luck with all that yeah right!!!!.He has the theatrical right so we might see a continuation story as a theater film he's looking for investors at the moment.ABC is going to fall flat on thier------! for not working with Kenneth Johnson

it's too bad too, I had originally heard Ken Johnson was doing a sequel to the original mini series and at least some of the original cast would return to play the roles they created, set 20 years later.
I have to admit I will definately give the show a shot, I loved the original 2 mini series and still do. I loved the regular series when it first aired and I was 13 or so but find it completely unwatchable nowComment

I liked the original V. Not sure if I would be able to get into a new version. I generally like original. I am not real big into remade movies. Usually (not always) most of the time when something is remade it totally sucks vs. the original.Enjoy what you like, and let others enjoy what they like. (C) Azrak 2009

My feelings after seeing the preview?
Looks GREAT.
So, time will tell if it actually IS."No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. I think I'll scoot over here right by this winda', let this beautiful carriage rock me to sleep, and dream about how lucky I am." - Chris MannixComment

This'll tank. Johnson has admitted that in the case of the Original V each mini-series was rushed to be filmed after he wrote 1 draft of the script. Even NBC would not allow time for this to be developed beyond the basic concept. I think they opted for V after years of not being able to bring Arthur C. Clarke's Childhoods End to TV. The way that story ends they will never be able to film it.
I can see an ABC version coming out and the scientists are made into pariahs for claiming global warming is real or stem cell research may benefit humanity and the producers will claim they were clever for bringing the concepts up to date and current like those arrogant basterds Moore and Eick over on Galactica. It doesn't take much to bait and switch.Comment
