Which franchise has a brighter future now? Star Wars or Star Trek?
Trek is hot right now. I have not seen the movie yet, but hope to soon.
I'll always take Star Trek over Star Wars (and POTA over both!). I prefer SciFi that deals with Earth instead of some far far away galaxy.
Star Trek at the moment. If Stars Wars did a live action TV series that would be awesome.
If only Mego had done Star Wars, that would have been their crowning moment in Toy history.

I suspect if they had got that license they'd have ben around another 20 years since they bought a bunch of junk francishes hoping they'd be star wars
Trek's new film has been out 10 days I suspect in a year it will be star wars on top. the clone wars show give a constant multimedia presence.
merchandising wise I am counting the days till a whol loe of the new films toys are on blow out at target and tru - my guess is mid july
Merchandise-wise, I think that Star Wars has a lot more to offer. I think light sabers are way cooler to play with than those Star Trek phasers. I also didn't see any particularly fantastic outfits on the new Trek movie except for the Romulans, that someone would recreate and wear to a con. I have never seen a Star Wars movie from beginning to end either, but even I recognize the storm troopers. What does Trek have to offer costume-wise other than the Vulcan ears?
Klingons, Jessica, Klingons! Every cosplay nuts dream is to be a klingon isnt it? big ones, little ones, hairy ones, lumpy ones....everybody loves dressing like Klingons!

Oops, sorry Jessica, I thought you meant Trek in general. The movie villians were Romulans.
Actually, there are Klingons in this one. A scene was shot were the Romulans rescue Nero from Rura Penthe. I have no idea why he was there in the first place, but the scene is to be on the DVD. It shows Klingons in their winter gear, complete with some funky helmets.

I offer as counter argument Stortroopers and the 501st legion. these fans have been making thier own stromtrooper suits for years and have been recongnised in by Lucas in cannon nods (battelfront 2 is the 501st legion and anakins under rex are named as the 501st in clone wars) and toys
