No, Hec, YOU cry me that river.

This moaning about a handful of people not liking this movie (or this imagined division between the old and new fans) is ridiculous and self defeating. Bagging on them sure as hell isn't going to change their minds, so I feel leave em be.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Funny how you defend one side...but it's ok for them to diss this new movie constantly...even without having seen a single frame.

        Fair and balance...yeah.

What comments where those? And don't you tease people all the time? So, not surprisingly sometimes you are going to get teased back.

I like you Hec, but damn, for all the teasing you do you really can be touchy when you get it back.

I only tease my close buds...you know...my inner circle...Mike, Damien, Meule, The Wrath Man, etc...posters like that.

If I don't have a close attachment to other posters...I'm more diplomatic...they know this...especially Mike.

Now in all seriousness, again, what was the smart *** comment I made towards you a while back that upset you? I will be the first to admit I have a peculiar sense of humor, so I will either explain what I meant or apologize.

              Fair enough?

Stop trying to create this division that doesn't exist. The old school trekkies not accepting it nonsense. The vast majority of really hard core old school Trek nerds have been gushing over the movie. So, seriously, enough with that crap.

And stop bagging on the handful of people that don't like it. Whatever their reasons are for not liking the movie is their business and there's nothing wrong with that. So, get the hell off their freaking backs.
                ????

As far as I can tell, Hector---myself ----or anyone else that has been
"criticizing" the old-schoolers that won't even give the movie a chance
haven't been directing our statements at the old-schoolers as a whole
                at all.

At least, I've never seen it.

As far as "getting off the backs" of those that keep commenting about how
the new movie is "this" or "that" without even having seen it allows
for a "rebuttal" of some sort in my humble opinion....tha's how board
                discussion works.

Technically, if the "auto-haters" are going to diismiss the flick right
out of the box---I'm surprised that they've kept coming back to these
new threads anyway---let alone posting without expecting replies
                regarding their basic "tunnel" stance.
"No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. I think I'll scoot over here right by this winda', let this beautiful carriage rock me to sleep, and dream about how lucky I am." - Chris Mannix

I'm not sure what to say about all the back and forth with old trek new trek.Everybody is allowed to hold on to what ever trek they want. There is no right or wrong.
With that, this is my insight.......original trek will always be what STAR TREK is and measured by.The TOS movies were fine....TNG was fine, its movies were not up to par(with the exception of "first contact")and made terrible miss steps...DS9 was different and I liked it (it was the step child and had good story telling)...Voyager had a bad plot(but was watchable)...by now the studio new they let the producers go to far from what TOS was all about and were talked into getting back to the basics with Enterprise. Later realizing they should have put someone else in charge and when they did(in its last and what it should have been all along season)the franchise was tainted far beyond repair.
The new trek is what is needed to give trek back its life but the problem is it will still be measured buy the "original" TOS.So they are trying this take on a new approach with history to get old and new fans involved.I think it's going to work....so just let it try...if some people don't want to ....they're allowed...and remember with Spock's new knowledge, he can repair history when it's time to
                  "Thats the ticket laddie"

Hec is just a big ole bully.

One time he teased me so much I started to cry.

It took 6 hotdogs to calm me down
