Don't like Trekker either. Sounds like you're going somewhere.

I like Trekkie....from what I recall way back when, the whole Trekker thing started because some fans started feeling being called Trekkie was derogitory.....who cares what someone else calls you anyway

I loved that movie Trekkie, & Free Enterprise.

I'm proud to be a Trekkie; Trekker for me has that PC quality that at times made Next Generation just as silly as the bravado of the original show.

But ST really stands for something, as well as being fun & entertaining. We should embrace those perjorative labels & make them our own.

Proud also to be a Megohead.

Wasn't Trekkie coined by Arthur W Saha?

The whole changing a derogatory remark into name of pride has a long history: the term Christian was originally a pejorative -- as was Yankee.

I've never been to a Trek Convention. I think one day I will have to go. Maybe the same year that I do Burning Man.

I don't really consider myself one, I dig Star Trek TOS but that's about it and even then, I don't think I've seen every episode.

It's a far better term than "Foodie" which bothers me no end.
