they were trying to make him more exotic...a prince from India....either way, I agree, a great actor and one of the all time great villains.

Well...Mexico's number one superhero has always been Kaliman.
Kaliman was created by Mexican comic book artists...and guess what...they made him an Indian/Pakistani, and his sidekick is named Solin...an Egyptian boy...lol.
Kalimán - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Kaliman is so popular down there (basically all of Latin America)...that even mighty Marvel Comics has given permission to let some of their supervillains guest star in Kaliman comics, lol...
So to answer your question...Mexicans don't have a problem with Ricardo Montalban's character of Khan...be an Indian.

I hated the introduction of the Tuvok character because his obviously ethnic appearance would only be possible on a planet where races segregate themselves. Most illogical for a Vulcan.Last edited by HardyGirl; May 7, '09, 8:35 PM."Do you believe, you believe in magic?

I did state my opinion,it was "whatever" as in I don't really care one way or the other of his ethnicity.It was a great character.
I don't know about you but when I watched it for the first time I was like seven years old so Indian Hispanic had no bearing on my feelings.
Growing up I just accepted it and thought it was a great villain..
I can see your point-that he is Hispanic however I'm sure they wrote the character as an east Indian prince and then cast the actor not vice versa.
So I'm happy the way he is.I agree good topic,it is no less important than how many hot-dogs can you eat.

Three pages of this and not one person has said "KHHAAAANNNN!!!!" yet and you dare call yourselves fanboys and nerds. Bah! You all disappoint me so.You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...Comment

Kaliman = Awesome.
Never heard of him but the character and that figure are just cool looking. I bet he could stomp a mudhole in a villain's butt and walk it dry.
I think Khan is awesome no matter what race he is supposed to be. But I see T1K's point.Comment

From all that I've read, Montalban was born in Mexico, but was 100% Spanish ethnicity and not mestiso. As far as looks, Montalban can pass for a man from Northern India, specifically the Punjab region. India is a big continent and contains many "ethnic" variations.90, Joe 90....
