    Khan should have been Mexican

Whenever I watch Space Seed and Khan's background is revealed, I always shudder at the very bad conclusion as what came from a script to what we see onscreen.

There's no way Khan came from India.

    He's clearly Mexican...
He looks Mexican and his accent is Mexican.

The painting of him with a turban is totally laughable

I think the writer's should have went with Khan being Mexican

    What do you think ?

I've also seen Ricardo Montalban play an American Indian in an old movie.
That's just the way they hired actors back then. There wasn't a whole lot of casting actors that fit the race/enthnicity of the character.

They went with the best actor for the part I guess.

Its kind of like having a very British French man commanding the 1701-D!

Well...Mexico's number one superhero has always been Kaliman.

Kaliman was created by Mexican comic book artists...and guess what...they made him an Indian/Pakistani, and his sidekick is named Solin...an Egyptian boy...lol.

Kalimán - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Kaliman is so popular down there (basically all of Latin America)...that even mighty Marvel Comics has given permission to let some of their supervillains guest star in Kaliman comics, lol...

So to answer your question...Mexicans don't have a problem with Ricardo Montalban's character of Khan...be an Indian.

                      Ricardo Montalban was Mexican.

He was born in Mexico City...and grew up in the Mexican city of Torreón.

That Kaliman looks a bit like Sargon the Sorceror.

Kaliman rocks! Did they ever make a movie about this dude? Also I personally don't care where khan was from. He would have been a great villian no matter his ethnicity because he was played by a great actor, Mr. Rorke!

Whatever, it was a great story and a great character portrayed by a fantastic actor.
Read the books the rise of Khan you will get his whole background.
And if his appearance is your reasoning than how do you live watching chekov???
That accent is no where near Russian.

                              I'm just stating my opinion

Ricardo is a great actor and they (the producers) should have used his Mexican ethnicity to their advantage and made Khan Mexican.

                              If you don't agree... fine
