    Oh..I get it now.

I live in Oklahoma and stuff like the sex scene will offend some. I thought maybe you were referring to that, but if folks were giggling then they clearly could not have been offended.

Did anyone recognize Seymour as the dude who played Toyman in Smallville a few episodes back?

Caught it last night - Snyder knocked it out of the park, and IMO pretty much raised the stakes a bit for future superhero movies.

The casting was perfect, and by and large the performances were top notch all around. True, there were scenes I would've liked to have seen that would flesh out the characters some more (Laurie confronting the Comedian like she did in the comics, after she'd read Under The Hood), but I understand a lot of footage that wasn't used will wind up in the director's cut DVD that comes out in July (I think): the newspaper vendor and kid reading Tales of the Black Freighter (which, I hear, will be intercut with the film on the DVD, as it was in the comics; more Hollis Mason including (I believe) his death, etc.

Great movie, definitely NOT for the kiddies. Also, if you haven't read the original GN, do so now. Go. We'll wait. Why are you still reading this? GO.
"It's sad that governments are chiefed by the double tongues. There is iron in your words of death for all Comanche to see, and so there is iron in your words of life. No signed paper can hold the iron. It must come from men. The words of Ten Bears carries the same iron of life and death. It is good that warriors such as we meet in the struggle of life... or death. It shall be life."

I had to go see this yesterday just based on previews and hype, I have not read the comic. From that point of view, excited but fairly clueless, I have to say I enjoyed it a lot! It did kinda drag at times but I have no doubt that if more had been cut the true fans of the comic would have revolted. The best payoff was that it had a really good ending. I'm so fed up with throwing away $$$ to see a movie that I think is going to be good, having it start off great, then somehow the ending is a steaming pile, not this time!!!!
If you are old enough to see this movie, then go!

You know, I'm often surprised by the rating a movie gets.
You can show violence as much as you like, but show some genitalia, and the censor strikes.
I find it odd that these days, on AFV they "block out" a kid's naked bum. As if that's more offensive than seeing violent TV series...
