Is there a "Best of " Twlight Zone DVD set?

My dad and I have been talking about TV shows we like, and the Twilight Zone has come up often. He's by no means a die-hard fan, but enjoys the show.

Have they released a "best of" set? I know amazon has several volumes of season sets, but I didn't come across a sampler set.

I'd like to get him a set for Christmas if there is one.

To my knowledge there's not a "Best of"....but you can't go wrong with the Season 1 DVD

Although now that I think of it, there were older DVD releases that had 2 or 3 episodes a piece on them...before the complete season DVDs came out....

Yeah and if you want even older old-school stuff I am almost positive they released either single or maybe 2-3 episodes on VHS.
Might want to try Amazon (or goodwill, lol).
I know they had a set of every star trek episode (or perhaps 2 to a tape) on separate VHS tapes so I'm thinking they did this with TZ too.
And toyroom is right. There are DVDs with a few episodes apiece on them.
They do have the whole series on one big DVD set. I've seen a couple different releases of this too.

Yeah, look for "The Definitive Collections" of the first three seasons. Rod Serling was more involved with those years compared to later ones, and they have most of the classic episodes. Great stuff!

One of my fav episodes is an obscure hour long one.

It's the one where James Whitmore and all the people are trapped on that desert planet.

              Also stars Tim O'Connor.

Thanks guys. Maybe I'll just start him out with Definitive Collection Season One.

That way I know what to buy him over the next few years!

I wish I had the softwear and knew how to just pull episodes off my Definitve Collection and kerplunk them on a "greatest hits" package for you.

My two favorite are time travel episodes (sort of): A Stop At Willoughby and Walking Distance. I recommend them both highly.

There weren't too many 'clunkers' in the Twilight Zone series. Most episodes are pretty good.
Those hour-long episodes aren't shown on tv as much. I don't think I've even seen them all.
If I'm not mistaken, wasn't the one with Billy Mumy an hour-long episode? The one where he's that horrid little child that can make people disappear? Cloris Leachman plays his Mom.
Did you know they made a sequel to that episode in the recent TZ series that Forrest Whitaker hosted?
That was pretty neat they were able to do that.

The episode I really hated was ... (I forgot the title)

I think this guy was maybe in the Civil War and they were going to hang him ... He escaped and ran for the whole episode.
The conclusion was he was just dreaming he escaped and they hung him.
The story had no talking in it.

I'm sure some people think it was "arty" but I thought it was just Super-Boring
