>going back to the older, more "doctor-like" figure, would be great....
....especially since during the Tennant tenure he seems to have become more of his old self again. Eccleson was pretty uptight and serious; which was cool 'cos that's where the Doctor was emotionally after the Time War. And after meeting Rose he strated lightening up again, and turned into the freewheeling Tennant version. So an older "classic" doctor might be in order. Sorta show how he's back on his feet again.
>I don't know who might be a good choice for an older Doctor.
Rowan Atkinson did a great job in Fatal Death. Brian Blessed would certainly thake things in a new direction. I could see him punching out a Cyberman....
>Finally some boob jokes on Who.....
Have you seen "Curse of Fatal Death?"
"Oh, my sonic screwdriver has a fifth setting...."
>There is a strong rumour going around that the next doctor will be female.
Technically there IS a female Doctor now. Her name is Jenny.

I'd really like to see an older Doctor. They don't need to repeat Hartnell but
hopefully an older Doctor would eliminate all that female companions falling in
love with the Doctor crap!
I don't know who might be a good choice for an older Doctor.
If they stay younger Ben Miller from "Primeval" and the actor that plays
Gisbourne on "Robin Hood" could be interesting Doctors. I can not think of his name and it will come to me two minutes after I leave the computer.Leave a comment:

If your going to go for an older Doctor my choice would be: Anthony Head (been mentioned before but now he's on Merlin unlikely). Or How about Timothy Dalton?
If you could have anybody: Brian Blessed, Bruce CampbellLeave a comment:

Going out on a limb on this pick, but think about it for a second ......
Robbie Coltrane
Not counting Colin, who really wasn't all that big (back then) --- we never had a fat Doctor.Leave a comment:

I know this has been rumored for some time so it's not a complete surprise.

That rumour has been floating around since the JNT era, i doubt it.Leave a comment:

It would literally alienate their entire fan base ... new fans and old fans -- both male and female.
The only time I can see them attempting it is if the series was at the end of it's rope --- nobody watched, and it's at the verge of cancellation.
Then they might try it as a last grasping straws effort.Leave a comment:

As Cool as Sean Pertwee would be I don't see him doing it unless they offer him a boatload of cash. He knows first hand how difficult it is to step from the timelord's shadow.Leave a comment:

I'm not surprised, the rumours have been out there for a while. He's put in a good run, he was a great Doctor but he's right, there is a certain energy when a new guy takes over.
I vote for Nick Frost, the first "regular guy" Doctor.Leave a comment:
