    >Then we can have original cybemen and not need to have a "mcguffin" to bring daleks in, Galifrey etc.

So.... do you mean the ORIGINAL original Cybermen....? 'Cos I'd love to see the old "guy in ski mask" ones come back! When you think on it; if you can travel through time you can bring back durned near ANYTHING pretty easily. 'Cept maybe the Daleks, since they can time travel too and can alter their history as well.

    >I for one would love to see an Ice warrior with modern special effects

Normally that sort of thing scares me, but they've done a decent job of not really changing any of the monsters they brought back. 'Cept the cybermen, and I didn't mind them so much.

The more I think of it (and it would never happen) I would love to see a step back in time as it were and let paul mcgann have his screen run as the 8th doctor. Then we can have original cybemen and not need to have a "mcguffin" to bring daleks in, Galifrey etc. Even his flash animations are fun
I for one would love to see an Ice warrior with modern special effects

[QUOTE=monkey tennis;222767]These are the odds and the names being mentioned as a replacement.

    4/1: Jason Statham

    12/1: Daniel Radcliffe ?????

    16/1: Bill Nighy

    \QUOTE]

Jason would rock but we already had the Action, Balding, & Angry Doctor with Chris

Daniel Radcliffe - Ugh I hope not. The Salary expense would eat up the entire Who Budget - Besides that would be acting suicide for him he would be guaranteed to be on the con circuit the rest of his life.

Bill Nighy - Cool but how about Bill Nye Science Guy instead ?

    That's what I'd PREFER.

Russell T Davies said he thinks it should be Russell Tovey.
He was in the Titanic Christmas Special.

These are the odds and the names being mentioned as a replacement.
    2/1: Robert Carlyle
    4/1: Jason Statham
    6/1: James Nesbitt
7/1: John Simm.....Now that would be cool.
    10/1: Julian Walsh
    12/1: Daniel Radcliffe ?????
    14/1: Nigel Harman
    16/1: Bill Nighy
    25/1: Catherine Tate
    33/1: Billie Piper

There is also mention that Jennifer Saunders might play the Doctor in a one off special.
It will probably be an unknown really.

Personally, I'd pick Vin Diesel as the new Doc.
He'd drag Davros out of his tiny little chair, and slap the old freak silly with a Dalek toilet plunger....

I'd pay good money to see that.....

It's rather like War of the Worlds, being transported to modernday US, with American actors.
And very British literature like Constantine, being warped into Keanu-whoah-it's a demon-Reeves.....

Add a roaring laugh to finish that off......

I think Tennet was good but it won't bother me to see a new face either.
I agree maybe an actor who is a little older (mid 40's to mid 50's) would be good. Youth movement happened before (davison was quite young compared Tom Baker)

^^^ The city location stuff for the Dark Knight and Batman Begins was done in Chicago and a bit in Hong Kong when Bats went to HK. Outside Micheal Caine(who's playing a English character) and Christian Bale there weren't too many English guys.

You know, I love the fact that the lead actor can walk away from the show and the character, and still the main character and show is intact.
