The only problem with going with name recognition .....
Today, it's been used so often --- the entire world (except the moguls) look at rehashing old idea's as a big laughable joke.
The moguls live in a huge bubble with no contact with outside world.
They can't see the world has already finished laughing at them and are to the point of rebellion --- (not watching their spoon fed crap)
Mark my words .....
The time is coming VERY SOON, when rehashing old sitcoms and movies is going to be OUT OF FASHION and considered NOT IN.
It's inevitable.Comment

Here, here. That is my gripe with this whole trend. These producers are taking serious dramatic series and turning them into kitchy nostalga comedy pieces. That's fine as part of the context of a satrical piece (e.g. The Scary Movie series, or Family Guy) where they are making one single joke, but to dedicate an entire film to repeating one esoteric reference joke is non-sustainable. You can only make so many "because that's what they used to do on the original show, remember?" punchlines before the premise starts to wear thin.sigpic"Sorry for the noise.
