    Worst Star Trek episode

OK I thought I had seen every episode of Star Trek. Well I got the three seasons when they came out a few years ago and finaly watched them.
Near the end of the last season was a episode "The way to Eden" It was total 60's hippy crap. It was horible, no wonder I never seen this in rerunns.

Eden was right up there with Spocks Brain.
Lo there do I see my Father.
Lo there do I see my Mother and my Sisters and my Brothers.
Lo there do I see the line of my people back to the begining.
    Lo they do call me.
They bid me take my place among them.
In the halls of Valhalla where the brave may live forever.

I watched the one with Merricus yesterday. That was kind of lame. I think you've got the worst nailed. I think Yul Brenner is in that one though so it gets a nod for that.

Wednesday, the one with my favorite Scotty line was on. Scotty is getting an alien guy drunk.

      Alien dude: "What is it"
      Scotty: "It's....well...uh....it's green"!

      I loved that bit.

This is a stinker. This is one of those times where an idea never makes it to the screen. This story, if I have my Star Trek stories in order, was originally by DC Fontana and was supposed to feature McCoy's daughter and Kirk was supposed to fall in love with her and then the story would be ablout how McCoy and Kirk dealt with the split that formed between them because of Joanna McCoy being on the ship. From what I remember reading, this was after Roddenberry had effectively left the production and the in-shop producers nixed the idea because they felt that McCoy should be considered Kirk's peer and no one would believe he was that much older than Kirk to have a grown daughter. Joanna became Chekov's girlfriend and the quest they were on became campy and hippie-like, not what I believe was in the original pitch.

Besides this one and Spock's Brain is the episode with the creature in a box that if gazed upon makes Spock go nuts. That's a stinker, too.
        It's all good!

Blasphemy! All the TOS stuff is solid gold!!!

Hippies in space, "I Reach", brain surgery tought via a salad bowl hat, blind chick with a super ugly boss....all staples of science fiction today...and Trek did it all first!

...Now, if your talking about the other Trek shows...well, they all pretty much stunk.

                  The Lights of Zetar

The only Trek Classic Episode I can't watch.

                  1. Story is really boring.
                  2. Everyone acts out of character.
                  3. The premise itself is unbelievable.

Lights of Zetar takes the cake as biggest stinker EVER.

Compared to Zetar, the Hippie episode or Spock's Brain is like freakin Shakespeare

                        A Piece Of The Action
                        The Way To Eden
And I have mixed feelings about the Paradise Syndrome

I tend not to like the episodes that are too true to life, and look like you could be watching anything but Trek. The Empath is just plain boring. Eden is just dopey.

I really think Mudds Women was a real loser! The only thing that made it tolerable were the chics after eating jello shots! The hippies were not high on my list either. So ya'll what is your favorite TOS episode of all time? Here are my top 5:

                          The Doomsday Machine
                          Balance of Terror
                          The Enterprise Incident
                          Mirror, Mirror
                          Amok Time
                          TC.

                              Hmmmm....

I really liked the space hippy episode. It included a bunch of things you NEVER see in sci-fi; like a counter culture. (That's not armed and hostile.) And a problem that isn't solved through the application of physical ,force or tachyons.

AND it's one of the few times somebody upstages Kirk. Kirk is completely USELESS in this one, and you can tell it bothers him.

                              Don C.
