I liked them both about equally for different reasons. That Megalon was exciting. I liked seeing him fly, and they gave him some new attacks which were cool. Jet Jaguar went full on "Shibuya Parkour" which was exciting and fun, but it definitely felt like it was catering to Showa fans a lot more than Megalon did.
Looking for Green Arrow accessories, Doctor Who Sonic Screwdriver, and Japanese Popy Megos (Battle Cossack and France, Battle of the Planets, Kamen Rider, Ultraman) and World Heroes figures

2024 will be Godzilla 70th anniversary, who would have thought. It’s pretty exciting seeing a new batch of big G movies coming our way, especially Minus One which looks intense and I also thought the trailer for Megalon was very good too.

And this year marked 90 years for King Kong, would of been kind of cool seeing a remake of the original marking the 90th anniversary, the 2005 version was okay but not great, and the 1976 version was well pretty bad, although Jessica Lange was some nice eye candy.

Okay as I mentioned before, I have a story to tell. It was at G FEst 2019? 2018? That some dude had his laptop and he was showing all these rare UNRELEASED videos clips of KAIJU that are NOT PRIVY to the public and he made it his mission to compile them. Well done. This also included the Gojira V. WOLFMAN from the 1970's ( and I have the 27 minute version on dvd here at home and you CAN FIND IT if you really want it)!! One of his clips was a JET JAGUAR Promo with ROBER SCOTT FIELD rehashing his role from Gojira V.KIng GHidorah: ANDROID M-11. Well at first the above clip I was NOT SURE if that was it or not and my lone brain cell could not be sure. SO I did some detective work...

And I found it from checking his wikipedia page!!!

Jet Jaguar: Project M11 (2015) is what it was called. And why does it exist? Well...

Apparently a bunch of Film students were Graduating and getting ready to head into the world of cinema there in Nippon, as a tribute to their SENSEI, they decided to make this promo and enlisted Robert to reprise his role!! Its not vary long and this version is the best quality as the other version is taken off a film screen with a camera. so enjoy I know I did. TOHO neeeds to look into doing a Jet Jaguar flick!

I know I will be the only one, I just can't get into the modern Godzilla movies. They just seem to be made for people that enjoy watching misery and destruction. I miss the fun Godzilla movies where he was the good guy. Yes, I know the 54 Godzilla movie was a serious horror movie but most of the original Godzilla movies 60s through mid 70s were aimed at kids.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

It may be a small club, but you are not alone. I feel that way about most modern projects based on classic characters. The filmmakers ramp up the dread and hopelessness while discarding any elements that would take the edge off and provide a bit of relief for the viewer. Fine for those that crave that sort of thing, but no fun for me. (Not bashing the recent 'Zilla and Kong flicks. Haven't seen them yet. Just speaking in general.)

I've been watching the Godzilla channel on Pluto TV. Yeah, they went way in the other direction in some of the films, but that's okay with me. Suitmation and models are my comfort food!

I went to see it tonight and

                  Wow.

I am gonna say if you took Maiden, Sabbath, Priest and Purple and put them all together, you would NOT even come close to the heaviness of Gojira.

This is the best film since 1954, the original. It is that DAMN GREAT.

Not gonna comment anymore until you all see it and make sure you bring LOTS and LOTS of TISSUES!

Seriously. I left the cinema Bawling.

Gonna go again Friday night after work and I'm bringing a tissue box.

Boyfriend & I just got back from watching Godzilla Minus One. I am glad I read reviews that said to bring tissues from crying. My boyfriend was crying in those emotional scenes, and squeezing my arm during the Godzilla parts (reason I bring a blanket with us).

It's a great movie that is a reboot of Toho Godzilla movies. For once the human story was worked into the story and you begin to root for them.

Go watch this at the theater, it's worth the money and even though it's subtitled you can keep up with it

I got to see Minus One on the 29th, and for the last two days Minus One and Shin have been wrestling for the coveted title of Best since the first.

I absolutely love Shin Godzilla. It is a masterpiece, and one of Hideaki Anno's best.

but Minus One is amazing. It is the best since the first. It brings the gravitas back, and tells one hell of a human story. See it on the biggest screen possible. It is outstanding.

Again for a second time, I ended up bawling in the cinema. A triumph for the human spirit.

My son and I watched this today, and wow what a great movie. I had hoped it was going to be good, and it exceeded my expectations. There's some great OMG moments, and as mentioned the character development, of the non huge monster type, helped the movie without dragging it down. That's really hard to do and they nailed it!

If you are on the fence about seeing this, please go. It's crazy this had a $15M budget, it looks great and more importantly it has heart too.
