Yep, Bruce would get a piece of the action. Just saw the red band trailer, looks very promising!

Evil Dead still had that crazy humor. I don't see that in there.
But I'll probably go see it.

        >Call me cynical,

        You're cynical!

        >doesn't that kind of look like every other horror flick made in the last 10 years?

Yeah.... I'm real leaery 'cos it seems really unneccessary. They're sticking pretty close to ther source material, using pretty much the same technology, making pretty much the same movie.... so why bother? The original (well, #2 anyhoo) is still just fine. The only REAL difference is no Campbell, and he was a pretty integral part of the original.

Surprised at that, considering Riami always regretted it.

We could use a little black humor. Maybe it's in there, but it's not in the trailer.
Agreed, the Evil Dead series is set apart one by it's unique direction and two by it's black humour. Without those two things, it's getting a bit generic. However, who knows what the final product is like?

Considering that it appears Campbell and Raimi are completely behind this I'll support it. And with that said I think old school fans will appreciate the respect that a remake done in such a fashion (support from the original creators) and the update will actually serve as a testament to the original and the spirit (no pun intended) of what Raimi did with the first one.

Now if they go messing around with Brisco County Jr? That's a whole different ballgame

Maybe I heard him wrong but didn't campbell say he would be in a fourth film?
I thought it was right at the beginning.
I'd always heard there would be a remake and also a fourth film almost simultaneously.
Wishful thinking on my part perhaps?

I think the fourth one should start out with Ash's kid accidentally stumbling on the cabin in the woods.
Even though (old ) Ash has retired from demon hunting (and let's forget the impossible situation he was in at the end of Army of Darkness), he needs to go to war one last time to save his kid.

I just miss Campbell's OTT demon slaying so much, I want to see him at it one more time!

This is one case where i'd rather see an all out remake instead of a continuation.

I don't wanna see fat old Ash and then just redo the story with another actor

Campbell looks pretty good these days, I'd be in for a fourth movie.

Yeah, looks like Bruce got back into shape. I'd love to see him go at it one last time. I think the franchise has built in everyone's minds much more than even when Army of Darkness came out. I think the movie would do really well if they kept the same over-the-top black humor flavor.

To me, Campbell's performance ( and the tongue-in-cheek script) really made the movies work.
If Schwarzenegger can play Conan again, Bruce can certainly fight demons again.
