    Hotel Transylvania

Took my kids to this over the weekend, the wife and I usually call "not it" when going to kid's movies but this is one where I wish my wife had come. It's fast paced, funny and feels like a modernization of Mad Monster Party.

Also, I read a lot of negative reviews about the movie, critics don't care for Sandler but I'm convinced that several of them didn't even see the film. One of them kept commenting on all the fart jokes in the movie, I counted one.

This is a must see for me and the kids, but it's coming to the local theater in a few weeks, and we try to support it as much as we can. So we'll take it in then.

Sandler is still a guilty pleasure to me. When he's on, he's on. He's had his share of misfires, but his funnier stuff still cracks me up. I have no problem saying that.

My kids and wife really enjoyed it. I thought it was okay,
      Fresh, not from concentrate.

Any kids movie that I don't stare at the ceiling thinking "END! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD END!" is a win for me.

I was wondering about it. I'll take the kids to see it and hope for the best. Monster + cartoon has got to be a win. PARANORMAN was good.

Mina is the world's first Paranormal Petsitter in the new middle-grade book series by Gary Buettner, MONSTER PETS, coming in FALL 2014 from EMBY KIDS. Spooky adventure that's perfect reading for kids 8-12

One thing that's puzzled me about the marketing for Hotel Transylvania is the lack of Halloween-type creepiness. Everything is sunny and bright looking, despite the presence of vampires and werewolves. That may be due to ParNorman and Frankenweenie coming out near the same time.

Either way it worked. Hotel Translyvania broke the September opening record this weekend.

Glad to hear it was good. I've been looking forward to it.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

I'll watch it when it comes out on Blue-ray.

I have no kids...and feel uneasy going to the movie theater to watch an animated film without kids of my own...I feel like a creepy old man, lol.

Besides, I'm allergic to kids anyway...

Its good to hear some good reviews, I know it got beat up pretty good by the critics and in the paper. I won't see it in a theater, I'll wait for the peace and quite of my own living room.

Yeah the middle aged man by himself at a kids movie sets off my "creep radar" plenty good.

Well, my son is too scared to go see it, and I don't want to be "that guy", watching this alone in the theatre, so it will be Blu-ray for me too.

It's cute. The humor wasn't nearly as crude as I feared going in.
