    Classic Horror on TCM

Turner Classic Movies is dedicating Monday night's in October to horror/monster movies

Frankenstein, Freaks, are among the classic flicks showing this Monday night.

There is also a documentary "A Night at the Movies" featuring Stephen King.

Great way to get in the Halloween mood.

I LOVE IT! Can't wait to see the Universal monsters back on the tube. A Halloween staple at this household.

In addition to the Monday night airings, they are showing other horror/sci-fi movies this month too. While setting up the DVR I came across House of Wax, The Thing from Another World, and Curse of Frankenstein among others.

I missed Frankenstein, darn it. I guess I'll watch some of Jekyll and Hyde, but it's on late. And I wish Phantom of the Opera weren't on at 3:30am! I hope these movie will be repeated some time this month!

Watched Jekyll and Hyde that I recorded last night. I hadn't watched that particular version in some time. I forgot how good it actually was. Very well made when you consider it was done in '32.

I know! I actually did stay up to watch it. It was really good. I've never seen that particular version.

The Lugosi Dracula DVD is pretty good because it also includes the Universal Spanish Dracula...both shot during the same time at Universal studios...the English was shot during the daytime...while the Spanish version was shot at night...that's why it has a more eerie atmosphere.

The Spanish Dracula did not include Lugosi...it was Spanish actor Carlos Villarias...however...IMO...he was the weakest part about Spanish Dracula...while I think the Spanish version is technically a superior film...it lacks the better Dracula.

                            Check it out...

^^^ So true Hector. It was made very well, but that fella who played Dracula was hysterical. He looked more he was on a binge instead of being the undead.
