I just got "Evil of Frankenstein" as part of the Hammer Legacy box set. Haven't watched it yet, but I think that's what this weekend evenings will be about! I've seen a few of the Hammer Frank movies, and I likes 'em.

I'm really anxious to rewatch "Brides of Dracula" and "Curse of the Werewolf" on this set. Haven't seen them in years.

"Evil of Frankenstein" was my first monster movie, I assumed growing up it was Karloff.

As a kid, I always felt like the Mego monsters were based more on the Hammer films than Universal.

I watched the Curse of Frankenstein, but I missed the interview after, except when John Carpenter said he like the part when the monster ripped off his bandages.

It was great seeing John Carpenter lend commentary before each of the films last night. A classic director in his own right.

^^^ So true Hector. It was made very well, but that fella who played Dracula was hysterical. He looked more he was on a binge instead of being the undead.

The Lugosi Dracula DVD is pretty good because it also includes the Universal Spanish Dracula...both shot during the same time at Universal studios...the English was shot during the daytime...while the Spanish version was shot at night...that's why it has a more eerie atmosphere.

The Spanish Dracula did not include Lugosi...it was Spanish actor Carlos Villarias...however...IMO...he was the weakest part about Spanish Dracula...while I think the Spanish version is technically a superior film...it lacks the better Dracula.

    Check it out...

I know! I actually did stay up to watch it. It was really good. I've never seen that particular version.

I missed Frankenstein, darn it. I guess I'll watch some of Jekyll and Hyde, but it's on late. And I wish Phantom of the Opera weren't on at 3:30am! I hope these movie will be repeated some time this month!
