Another thing I forgot to mention before: There are 3 actors in this who guested on Smallville in the last two seasons. Michael Shanks (who played Hawkman), the guy who played Slade/Deathstroke, and the lady who played Granny Goodness. Kind of odd.

For actors that show up in the same things together it actually happens quite a bit - especially for smaller rolls. It's usually a practical reality of the business side of things - a lot of the time they're just represented by the same agent.

I'm glad you liked it! I was entertained by parts, but it mostly drove me crazy.

I wouldn't say I liked it. It was okay. It had some interesting ideas that it portrayed well, but others feel victim to the style de jour.

I agree - it's for sure one of those movies that feels instantly dated - style-wise.

I don't think it's a chick flick. I quite enjoyed the movie. I hate the comparison to Twilight. It isn't anything like it. Same director, that's it.

To me it was more of a mystery/thriller type thing. Who is the big bad wolf? I kept looking for clues as the movie progressed. Also I liked the imagery and the colors.

Personally, I considered it to be a blatant stab at the growing female young-adult gothic/romance/horror market.

Over the last couple of years, I've been horrified to find a new category heading on the bookstore shelves... Alongside the Horror, Fantasy and Sci-Fi sections there's now an aberration called "Paranormal Romance", full of swill like the Twilight books, et al.

Still... if there's a market for it (and there is)... I guess we can simply ignore it, and leave it to its intended target audience.
