    Hmmmm....

Funny how all PRE-90's Dracula movie Dracs wear tuxedos and have widow's peaks, and all POST 90's Dracula movie Dracs have long hair and bath robes. (Except in the 80's Chill RPG where he was Geraldo Rivera.)

They missed Dracula:The Series from 1991. This Drac was so lame he couldn't off 2 annoying kids and an old man in the run of the show. Good thing Mia Kirshner (later of 24) was on hand to sucker in viewers.
Am I nuts, or did that kind of sort of spin off of the Superboy TV series? I remember Superboy fighting Dracula, and then they started advertising that awful Drac series.

There were a couple of Superboy episodes - "Young Dracula" and "Run Dracula Run" - that featured a dhampir or half-vampire named Byron Shelley but I can't find a connection to Dracula The Series .

I always dug Morgan Freeman's Dracula spoof on The Electric Company....in fact the skits with him, the Wolfman and Frankenstein's Monster were some of my favorite spoofs.

Honestly, I rather like the very specific takes on Dracula by Kier & Hamilton. In each film's context, they are interesting perfomances...

I have to hand it to Van Helsing's Dracula. He came across as being goofy and was far too over the top. Then again that summarizes the entire movie really.

^yes, having a decent dracula in that movie could have improved it 25%. Roxbury exuded no sense of class, something Drac should always have...

I thought the Van Helsing Dracula looked like some sort of washed up German techno band member. That movie frustrated the hell out of me because I should have loved a big cartoony monster mash.

Boy, did you hit the nail on the head with that. This movie is just too terrible to like. I have always been a sucker for any team up things, whether in comics or the movies, but this movie, with its' terrible CG and leaden pace, is just atrocious.

Couldn't agree more. Van Helsing has to be one of the greatest misfires in recent memory. It should have been a great romp, but it's just a mess. Not even Kate Beckinsale could save it.
