It's a vampire teen romance. I watched it with my daughter. It was OK, but I bet I'd like half of what's in the $5 Walmart bin better.

I ALMOST bought Captain Kronos yesterday, but I decided to be good. I know it's only $5, but I have so many DVDs I've never watched. I'll probably pick it up before Wal-Mart pulls all of these vamp flicks.

We did get Twilight. My wife is quite a fan of the books, and enjoyed the movie. I haven't seen it yet, and I'm looking forward to it.

I watched the Vampire Lovers/Countess Dracula this weekend. Vampire Lovers was pure 70s Hammer/exploitation goodness. The amount of nudity and lesbian scenes surprised me for the time the movie was made. Too bad Ingrid Pitt didn't make too many more movies.

Countess Dracula was pretty subdued for Hammer, I thought. I expected to see a lot more flesh and definitely a lot more gore and blood. It came off as more of a strange historically-based fairy tale than a true horror flick. But still enjoyable and well worth $7 for both of 'em.

I got paid last night, so today I grabbed a stack of vampire goodness at Wal-Mart:
    Let the Right One In
    Bordello of Blood
    Captain Kronos-Vampire Hunter
    Shadow of the Vampire
    Fright Night
Countess Dracula/The Vampire Lovers double feature
    and...Pinocchio. He ain't a vampire, but I'm a sucker for classic Disney
