Entertainment Weekly gave it an A- ..., which is very, very high for anything they ever give a rating for.
J,
Don't believe everything you read. I'm still kinda in shock at just how incredibly awful that film truly was. It was very odd from the get go, but I was pretty much with it for a bit, then it got REALLY odd, and at the end of the second act, the movie jumped the shark big time. HUGE.
What a joke. My biggest gripe with it (other than the acting, which is dreadful) was the fact that NOTHING in this movie is believable at all, yet every single line of dialogue is delivered with the utmost sincerity and is deadly serious. The premise of the film and what actually happens, including the "unbelievability" is actually fine... It's the fact that the actors they chose and their performances are so incongruous to it all.
I'd be really interested to discuss the film with anyone who actually liked it. It just was so stupid and dumb, that the first question I literally asked the person I saw it with, was; "Ok, was that movie just SO avant garde and brilliant, that it was over my head?" To which the reply was; "No... It sucked."Hence the one word review.
ohhh ..., I don't ever believe a review of a film. Hell, the same mag gave Ironman 2 a C rating ..., and I loved it.
I just thought it was funny thats all ..., most the time, I completely disagree with a rating of a film ...., Entertainment weekly gave Jay & Silent Bob Strikes Back an F rating ..., and I thought it was 1 of the Funniest films I have ever saw,... but I also dig Dick and Fart Humor.
What you think about the acting in Dragon Wars ? .... Worst Movie ever imo.
... The Original Knight ..., Often Imitated, However Never Duplicated. The 1st Knight in Customs.
To Be Honest..., I would never see a Movie like Splice in the Theater ...., I can only go to the Movies a few times a yr ..., and stuff like that never make the cut in the choices of the Knights World .

I thought Species sucked the first time. I have no intention seeing it again.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...
Interesting how we have someone who is in all intents and purposes here really giving their own personal review of a movie followed statements of how sad they are to hear how bad it is followed by comments where some say they never go by what a review says as they judge a movie on their own.
I remember my Dad and I hearing a review for "The Black Hole" back in the day and my Dad and I were about to go and see it, and he suddenly decided based on the one review that maybe he would pass. I was able to talk him back into wanting to go and we both went and were glad we did.
Nothing against anyone who says yes or no to this or any movie and I understand that everyone has the right to their own personal views and opinions, but I am always surprised when one or a few people have a strong opinion about a movie that is then followed by replies of "Gee, I guess I won't be seeing that one then". Really? Just like that and you have decided to not want to see it? If you can be swayed that easily by one or two peoples personal opinion then wow, I have some wet real estate for sale I would like to talk to you about LOL
I appreciate the review and the reviewers right to their opinion, but, I will go and see it for myself and make up my own mind and my own opinion about it thank you very much. Then I will decided for myself if it is bad or not, or possibly just how much it might move the suck-o-meter needle
Capt. Kirk: "Is there anyone on this ship, who even remotely, looks like Satan?"
Mr. Spock: "I am not aware of anyone who fits that description, Captain"
Capt. Kirk: "No, Mr. Spock, I didn't think you would be"
By posting a review of any movie that I see, I simply just want to express my personal opinion. I'm not trying to sway anyone's decision to see it or not see it either way. As a matter of fact, I actually want people to go see it, so we can discuss it. Especially if they have an opinion that differs from mine. I'm always interested in people pointing out something perhaps I missed or maybe provide a different perspective. Hearing why someone really likes a film that I don't (especially if it's a lot of people), helps me to connect with the audience better and become a better filmmaker.
Cmonster, I have nothing against your review. I thought the one word review comment was amusing as well.
I just don't understand how some people will then make comments like they do on deciding to not want to see it based on one persons opinion of it, thats all
