Wow. I never made that connection. Griffin Dunne, right?
I never made the connection either. Oddly enough, I just flipped past him in something new last night. I think it was TNT's "Leverage" series with Timothy Hutton.
Dunne was also the DA brother in Johnny Dangerously, right?
I bought this on DVD cheap a few years ago and still haven't watched it. I admit, I was scared by the original and can't bring myself to watch it all alone and nobody else wants to watch it with me!
Rich
Her dad Dominic Dunne was a novelist. He died yesterday. Wrote a book about the whole thing as a way to try and get over the devastation. Started with the intention of the character he saw as himself killing the man that took his daughter. When he got to that part he couldn't write it and ended up just injuring him and doing some time for assault. Claimed it helped him overcome the loss. The guy got 6 years for strangling his daughter but got out in 4 for time served.
I saw a news post about that online and was wondering if it was her dad (well now i know)?
I remember hearing about her death back then and then a few years later the other sisters death from the film. That then started a whole flux of the move being cursed and all sorts of bad things happening to other members of the cast rumors
"What motivated him to throw a puppy at the Hells Angels is currently unclear,"
Starroid Raiders Dagon wrote "No Dime Store Monster left behind"
remake or not, the original was a great movie and still scares me when I watch it....i actually let my kids watch the part with the clown recently and they thought it was silly....oh well, i gues this younger generation is jaded by all the cgi stuff we get in movies now...i think I am going to have to go pick this movie up on DVD or Bluray if it is available
Interesting. I always think The Shining is a very scary movie - but my girlfriend's 14 year-old sister thought it was silly.
Come to think of it, regular clowns scare the hell out of me - and I was scared of them even before the scene in Poltergeist traumatized me - maybe kids just don't have the misfortune of getting exposed to clowns anymore.
after watching this again I am kinda glad Spielberg took the production over although I like Tobe Hooper.Steven did write the original story and helped develope the screenplay it was his baby to begin with and he wanted it done right. plus he was at the top of his game in 1981 when they shot it .not like the spielberg we see now too old and afraid to take risks anymore.I just think Universal had him on tight Schedule for ET and he could not do both films at once bad timing
