When I was in Junior High, I had great fun spreading popcorn on the floor in front of me, then mumbling something like, "Gross! Roaches!" while I proceeded to stomp on the popcorn. I made more than a few people sick doing that.

Don't blame the popcorn, though. It was I that should have been banned from theaters.

I can tell you the moment in time and space when I was cured of those inclinations. One might think I got a beat-down, but that wouldn't have phased me. No, I was 17 waiting for Aliens to start and being my usual goober-self when a gorgeous late-twenties, maybe early-thirties woman sitting behind me leaned forward and whispered, "I actually thought you were really cute until I realized you are an ***." I was cured of tom-foolery and have conducted myself as a complete gentleman (theater-wise) from that moment on, without relapse.

They've got to be kidding. What concession at the theatres is bigger than popcorn? Let'em try it, they'll be right back on popcorn inside a year.

To be honest popcorn isn't as popular over here in cinemas as it is in the states

Studios take 90% (or more) of grosses for the first 2 wesks of a film's run. The percentage goes down gradually over the duration of the movie's run. That's why they advertise like crazy leading up to the movie and bail out after. The studios used to want a movie with long legs. Now they want as big opening as possible. If it plays well over time, that's a bonus.
BTW, Lucas took 95% of ticket sales for Phantom Menace, mandated that theatres give the movie the largest auditoriums for a month (to keep other movie's grosses down) and even tried to take a percentage of concession. Two of the largest chains refused the concession demand and came within 2-3 days of not playing the movie at all until Lucas backed down on the concession.

Thankfully this is true. Most of the people i see going into the cinema walk straight past all the overpriced food and into the film. If we want anything to eat or drink during the film we take it in with us.

My official Apology to all British People.

Yesterday, I called you all "pussies" in a jesting manner

Re-reading this thread today--- that was very mean of me --- and uncalled for (even in a joking way).

                                Sorry guys,
