"No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. I think I'll scoot over here right by this winda', let this beautiful carriage rock me to sleep, and dream about how lucky I am." - Chris Mannix
Nice work Hector. . . of course . . . .come the olympics. . . .well. . . I think most of us have seen the Goodies Episode where they compete for England. . . it is never pretty!
Curling? You lost 1000 points for using that ridiculous sport. Though it's like a train wreck, when I catch it on, I can't seem to stop watching it. In horror of course.
Oh Man. . . touchy subject here. . . . lets not forget. . .The RUSSIANS!!! The ultimate unlimited Cannon Fodder. . .a nice distraction from the UK. . . .and the first to make it to the Bunker and the heart of Berlin.
I must say there is a lot of animosity towards the Americans internationally regarding World War II. Even here in Australia. . . not just in the UK. Best just to say not to go there. . . There is a lot to say from the other side of the fence. . . ie Americans riding in like White knights on their steeds. . .so to avoid ugliness. . . don't touch the sublect. . .
Thanks God For England and the United Kingdom!!!!!!
Thank God For AMERICA!!!!!!!
PLEASE. . . .Just don't mention the War. . . honestly it gets REAL UGLY REAL FAST. . .

I know I said I wouldn't comment anymore ... but just one last one ..
Said tongue-in-cheek
As American's, lately ... why are we always made to feel guilty ?
Why won't ANY of our alias at least admit "we helped them win" ?
Instead today in Europe, we're know as the Johnny-Come-Latelys who bask in undeserved glory.
You have to admit, if it wasn't for America, most of Europe would be goose-stepping around right now.... and if not the German goose-step, the Russian one.
Ok just for you Mikey a history lesson....the reason U.S.A. is reguarded as "Johnny come latelys" is...WW1 ...last of the major peowers to enter the War...seems strange that most Americans don't say the "we saved your butts" phrase over that one....enter ww2 and europe is in turmoil for a few years before U.S.A. enters the fray (officially...I realise that you gave plenty of supplies etc) only after being attacked by Japan at the end of 1941....Many europeans see this as almost a selfish act as most countries threw thier weight into the war to defend Liberty prior to being attacked....not waititng to be attacked themselves. England stood alone against the "might" of Germany and succesfully turned away an invasion thanks mainly to the RAF and radar (another british invention)...which comprised (RAF) of many pilots from around the world...including a few from the states...but mostly Canadian and Polish pilots. It was the first time since hostilities began that the Germans had been stopped cold (apart from the sinking of Bismark and Tirpitz which stopped german naval sorties other than U-boats).
Britain underwent a major bombardment from the luftwaffe for years (right up till 1944 with the V weapons) ...something which the U.S. has never (and I hope never) experienced. Yes we welcomed the assistance from you guys...but most of the time wondered why it took you so long to get your asses in gear.
It was mainly the american Material (tanks, planes, ammo, supplies ) that helped (HELPED...not won) win the war...even Stephen Ambrose has said that the war was won by Russian manpower, British inventiveness and American material...
The reason why we and most of Europe hate the phrase "We saved your butts"( or variants of this), is because it isn't true...most people don't even realise that British and Canadian troops took 3 beaches in operation Overlord (not D-Day as that's just a normal phrase for the start of ANY plan), mainly due to hollywood making it look as though You stepped in at the last minute like the cavelry and saved everyone....it's certainly a nice image and I can see why hollywood sticks to it....but it isn't neccesarily true.
Rant over....this is just a brief simplified telling of events...I KNOW there is more to it than what's put here but it'll do for now....if you do want more information then there's plenty of well written documentation...or just ask.
