Official Anti Batman thread

Y'know....

The current buzz over the new Batman movie is almost EXACTLY like the buzz over the Keaton one. "Takes the character back to his darker roots.... maybe too dark for the kids.... the guy playing the Joker is BRILLIANT.... great depth of character....." I've heard it all before. The last time the 80's happened. And yeah, I'm kinda sick of it.

No matter how good a job you do, it's still just Batman. And it's kinda sad that we'll apparently never get past this point. That whatever incarnation of "The Dark Knight Returns" that's currently making the rounds is (for most folks) gonna be the pinnacle for North American comic books.

who were we going to pay to be Batman this time...Brad Pitt,Tom Cruise? we already tried with some of the biggest names out there in Kilmer and Clooney and look at how that turned out

Personally, I don't care for any other incarnations of Batman beyond Adam West and Olan Soule. The only other version I've seen was the Keaton movie and I didn't like it. The hype doesn't bug me b/c I have no intention of seeing this movie, and it's no different than any other big budget blockbuster w/ hype attached. Big deal, it'll pass.

You know Mike, I don't care for Dr. Who and don't get the fascination with it, yet there's a new Who thread in the Sci Fi forum at least once a day. I just ignore them since the show does nothing for me.

I'm a diehard Batman fan, so I'm not going to be sick of hearing about him. But really, the Mego Museum is a very logical place to discuss Batman, since I'd wager Mego made more money off of Batman and his world than any other character they licensed.

Not to get too philosophical, but Dark Knight is an intense, thought-provoking movie, so discussion is bound to be heavy.

As far as the new movie goes I thought it was good but I was far from being blown away by it. Batman's voice was a little on the annoying side when he was in costume. Also, it would be great to see them put the yellow oval and bat symbol back on this his chest. Joker should have had some type of back story instead of simply making him a mystery. His origin from the comics would have fit perfectly into the movie.

It seems poor Clark's fate when he goes up against "super human of
the planet"

I get WHY it makes sense for dramatic/character reasons---fine---
----but it'd be a neat twist to see Supes take down Batman for once.

If they ever would have made the BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN movie,
it would have HAD to have that kind of scene in it---
or it would have been incomplete.
