Tour de France & Women's World Cup

I'm probably late in posting this (2 days left) but the Tour de France has been a blast this year. I'm not a big cycling fan, but I've tried to watch the Tour for the past few years and this one is by far the best. Usually, it seems like the winner is already decided about halfway through, and they spend the rest of the time running out the clock or trying for individual stuff...I dunno. It doesn't always feel like a real competition, and I don't know the scoring system. This year, the top 2 guys were only 10 seconds apart until this week - the 3rd week. And there have been several stages won by guys who did a breakaway and were never chased down by the larger group. It's on Peacock, and as far as I know the whole thing is still out there to stream. It's good background noise when I'm working from home, kind of like baseball.

And the Women's World Cup from New Zealand & Australia just started. Again, I'm not a huge soccer fan, but World Cup is usually pretty good, and I strongly prefer the women to the men (the women flop way less). This is on Fox Sports, and again the replays are key. Just need to avoid spoilers.

The Tour is still a thing? I just figure it still had the stink from Lance Armstrong on it.

Absolutely! The Tour has been great this year. I got the family to watch the fantastic Netflix docuseries, which made them really interested in following the race this year... and it did not disappoint.

And I agree about looking forward to the Women's World Cup.

Yeah, the crowds have been insane, though Peacock is probably the right way to handle the US market. But twice this year I've seen spectators crowding the riders; once caused a crash. This week they were climbing a mountain so steep & narrow with sharp turns, that the car leading the pack and a motorcycle got stuck in the crowd and blocked the road. The bikers had to stop and inch past the car. Crowd control is my main issue with the race.

It was, but that corner kick was sick.
