Exactly. Not defending him "because he's Batman", but his arrest there would just be "called in for questioning here, apparently. Who knows what happened yet. Obviously the police weren't too concerned about the charges or they wouldn't have let him go to the premiere first and come in for a scheduled appointment.None of us knows the facts here. So it indeed sounds like much of nothing.UPDATE: TMZ is reporting the alleged assault was most likely verbal which apparently you can get arrested for in England. Ah, those wacky Brits. Christian Bale has already been released and his reps issued the following statement: "Mr. Bale, who denies the allegation, co-operated throughout, gave his account in full of the events in question and has left the station without any charge being made against him by the police. At this time, there will be no further comment by Mr. Bale."

This is in the UK. . .so his Mum probably wanted Chris to take her to the Premier. . .but wasn't prepared to get out of her dressing gown, fluffy slippers and rollers in her hair. And then she said "AND your sister is coming too. . . I'll pay the $10 for her if I have too but she is coming and sitting with us. . . .you're a very naughty little boy". BALE: "But Mummy. . .I want to sit with my friends!"
Chris meanwhile had been hoping to take a super model. . .or someone at least mildly S-E-X-Y. Who wouldn't have at least yelled at Mum under these circumstances.Comment

Many of you are jumping the gun and assuming Bale is the bad guy here.
First of all it was NOT a physical assault...it was a verbal assault...and that remains to be seen whether it's true or not (and who instigated it).
I just get irked a little when people automatically assume the female is innocent and the male is guilty without having any proof as of yet.
I have read somewhere else that there's a history of drugs problems concerning some of his family members...perhaps that could have been one of the causes that produced this whole fiasco.
I'll shall reserve judgment until all the evidence presents itself.sigpicComment
