Exactly. Not defending him "because he's Batman", but his arrest there would just be "called in for questioning here, apparently. Who knows what happened yet. Obviously the police weren't too concerned about the charges or they wouldn't have let him go to the premiere first and come in for a scheduled appointment.None of us knows the facts here. "Innocent till proven guilty", anyone? I myself was arrested and prosecuted for an assault I did not commit. These things happen.

Really SAD if true. Come on, Bale--Dark Knight is supposed to be a character who avenges his parents--not assaults them.

Wow this really is shocking news.
I sure hope that everything is resolved amicably between Bale and his family, and that this incident doesn't adversely affect the performance of the new film.
I have to agree that on the surface, this smacks of something minor blown way out of proportion by the press due to Bale's celebrity.Leave a comment:

This is from People.com (I did a google search). It is a policy in England to arrest a suspect before questioning him in connection to a possible crime. Bale has not been formally charged, therefore the police did not release his name.
So it works a bit different across the pond, apparently.

From TMZ.com
Just like the bat signal, coppers knew all along they could get Batman when they wanted him -- so they didn't arrest him until after his big premiere ... and the four press conferences he did before it.
So why did cops put a hold on busting Batman? They didn't think he'd flee.
Scotland Yard tells us after his mom and sis dropped a dime on Bale yesterday, the cops didn't jump because they felt Christian was not a flight risk. Also, they thought the crime was not super serious.
So, we're told, they waited until after "The Dark Knight" premiere to have him pay a visit to the station.Leave a comment:
